ZAHot tub and walks and the braai area was great
No mirrors in the house , windows in the bedroom do not open, hot tub needs a cover, access to the river bed walk from Rivendale cottage is not possible , hot water in the showe runs cold quickly
ZAZAI may never need to look for another breakaway option. This place ticked all my boxes. Interesting - and clever - upcycling. We stayed at Oak cottage. The interior was fascinating - the art on the walls and objet d'art scattered about are longing to share their stories with you. Now here's a man you want around your braai fire. Thank you Julian - you're doing a amazing thing there. We'll be back. And we'll remember the wine this time...
ZAThe dirt road drive, not the best for a car
ZALovely eco friendly cottages in the most beautiful location. Very tranquil and remote. Perfect for a break from the city.
The cottage was well equipped and we managed fairly well over the weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed and the braai facility was great, with access to braai would at the accomodation. We stayed in Rivendell Cottage and while it was lovely I would recommend the following. 1. Some mirrors in the bedrooms would very helpful. 2. The water pressure in the toilet could be turned up a bit. The toilet flush is very slow and weak. 3. Mosquito nets on the windows would be great. 4. I note that the water in the hot tub was quite dirty. Maybe it could be cleaned and filled with clean water before new guests arrive? Overall we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this farm for a weekend break to reset and recharge. René C

ZAQuirky but didn't have some of the features promised on the site such as a communal pool.
No coffee/tea provided. No pool as promised on the site.
ZAFriendly staff and owner. Pet friendly... Although we didn't take our pets. Could potentially add some more mirrors and fans. Nice quiet environment without the distracting of a TV. Enjoyed the fire hot tub.
ZAWe had a great time staying at the Oak (preferred due to more outdoor space for our dogs to run and quickly get into the pool) and the Hobbit Hallow cottages. It was great being able to travel with our two doggos, who enjoyed the splash pool and got to play with one of the residents' dogs. All you need to bring is food and refreshments, and there are full outdoor and indoor braai facilities—a lovely unplugging escape.
ZAWhat I saw on the photos, didn't justify my experience. I stayed at Oak Cottage and I feel in love the minute I opened the door. Such a cool little spot intertwined with nature. I'll def come back again.
The dirt road is a little annoying if you have a small car. But we made it. It was properly signed.
