Hillmoor Stone Cottage

Very nice cottage with very good facilities. The food the couple offers is very delicious and saves time. Also enoygh wood foreseen to heat up a stove to warm the house and you cab make a firepit (or braai).

Authentic, warm out of the way farm stead. Gorgeous old cottage farmhouse steeped in history. Wish we could have stayed longer

Very peaceful and relaxing. Got to experience what life would be like on a sheep farm in the freestate. Bedrooms are comfortable and each one has its own bathroom, water pressure in the shower is amazing. Kitchen is well stocked with utensils and self-catering is made easy. Freedom to take long walks was also nice bonus to have as he scenery is beautiful. Lots of photography opportunities around the property as well. Our visit was in summer after some rain but I imagine winter would be really enjoyable around the fires with delicious wholesome meals. We would love to return one day.

No dislikes, only advice would be some more comfortable furniture on the verandah, and eventually some larger sofas in the lounge, this would definitely encourage longer stays. Some drain cleaner in the showers as it seems the drain is starting to block up. Some real coffee would be a treat.

We love it so much, we stayed again!
