"A basic but pleasant overnight stop with lovely hosts - be sure to bring drinking water!"

8.0

The friendliest and most welcoming hosts! Loved the verandah for relaxing outside with a lovely view. Comfortable bedding and we appreciated the air con/fan - oh, and what a fabulous shower! Overall a very pleasant overnight budget-friendly stop.

I would have liked it to be a little cleaner, particularly ‘around the edges’! There is no ‘lounge space’ to relax comfortably inside - in my view it would be better to replace the bunk beds with a sofa. Finally, it is important to note the there is a sign saying not to drink tap water (and no bottled water is provided), which is okay except that we did not know in advance so were not prepared.

"We were unable to spend the night we had to find alternate accommodation"

2.0

The accommodation was in accessible and terribly disappointing. We would have had to be very far from our sister as her accommodation was lovely but 3 kms from us we had to find alternative accommodation in town.

Misleading advertising one needed a 4 x 4 to reach unsuitable accommodation

"Not as expected"

5.0

Spacious bathroom with clawfoot tub, shower, two basins as well as a seperate toilet and bidet. Clean towels were provided. The kitchen is well equiped. The chalet is also equiped with an air conditioner. The chalet is small, but charming and has a small porch. There are plenty of birds.

It was extremely dry and nothing like the pictures on Booking.com's website. No water in any of the dams. No waterfalls as advertised. No grass in front of the chalet. Broken braai grid. Shower door couldn't close - need new rubber. Water outlet in shower broken. We planned to swim, braai and relax on the porch every day, but were not informed that there are no water in the dam at the cottages. I realise that the extreme drought is not the owner's fault, and I have sympathy with their situation, but I also feel that I have the right to know if the amenities are not as advertised. We would definately not have stayed there if we knew we couldn't swim. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. The whole porch and chalet was full of ants. We drove to town to buy ant poison, but all the shops were closed. We could not braai or sit on the porch, as the ants climbed on us and bit us. It was horrific. We couldn't even stand in the kitchen without being bitten by ants. The next day we bought ant poison in town. That evening we could at least sit on the porch and have a braai. The mats were full of hair and were definately not vacuumed recently. We wanted a quite, peaceful farmstay, but could hear traffic day and night. We didn't expect to hear traffic on a farm. We thought we would hear farm animals...

Wij verbleven in Rock House. Een prachtige afgelegen plek midden in de natuur. Wandelmogelijkheden vanuit het huisje. Doodstil mooie sterrenhemel

De weg naar het Rock House is stijl en stenig. Alleen geschikt voor een hoge auto.
