Agriturismo San Giovanni

Posizione della struttura bellissima, dalla quale si poteva godere del panorama della vallata tosco - umbra con Città della Pieve sullo sfondo, l'ambiente molto accogliente del giardino con la piscina pulitissima e curata dal signor Giovanni, persona gentile e premurosa sempre a disposizione. Abbiamo assaggiato i prodotti dell'agriturismo: vino, olio, ortaggi, uova. L'esperienza più bella è stato ritrovare il silenzio e la quiete.

It’s a beautiful part of the world. Olive groves, meadows of wild flowers, fields of sunflowers. And Cetona is a pretty hill-top village with some great restaurants.

Firstly, the road that leads to the property is awful. There are signs, explaining the need to go up in first gear at so many rpms. I tried. But the road is so bad the car was rocking and I grew hesitant and slowed down and got stuck, wheels spinning. We unloaded the passengers from the car but then I was scared of careening into them. My friend (who got out) was greeted by an angry old man (the owner) shouting in Italian in her face, apparently telling her how I should have done it. She didn’t understand. I did get the hang of it but was worried my car would be ruined. Secondly, this was/is a family farm. The farmer still owns it. There’s a pig. And various plastic buckets and bits of debris lying around. The bbq is rusting and dirty, covered in old branches (not functional as promised) and there were no bikes (as outlined in the description). There seemed to be some old, dirty rugs lying on a rock near the pool. It’s a bit scruffy and not like the pictures. The old farmer and his farm hand are unfriendly and don’t smile. They look fed up with the guests. At one point he invited us to try a glass of his wine and that was nice. But I think the intention was to show his wares, rather than be friendly. He did leave us the end of two bottles of home-made Vin Santo and lemon grappa. Delicious. And he gave us a pepper, a tomato and some herbs. All nice. Momentarily. But generally he seemed slightly angry and impatient. I get it. He’s old. It’s hot. But it didn’t make a good impression. Then there were storms which took out the WiFi for 3 days - another reason for him to look pissed off and aggressively make sure we knew it wasn’t his fault. Also my toilet broke and it took a while for the plumber to show up.

Nos gustó TODO. El sitio es increíble. En plena naturaleza, rodeado de árboles frutales, flores y campo. El señor Giovanni y su hijo son encantadores. A nuestra llegada había una botella de vino, aceite de su finca, leche, ciruelas… para recibirnos. Está todo bien cuidado. La casa es muy cómoda, tiene todo lo que puedas necesitar. La piscina es estupenda, con unas vistas preciosas a su alrededor. Si buscas una experiencia auténtica en Toscana, este es tu sitio.

Nos gustó todo. No hay nada malo que comentar.

Giovanni est super, le cadre est très beau. Idéal pour les enfants avec tous les jouets présents.

Urocze miejsce w którym na prawdę odpoczęliśmy. Czysty basen i spory ogród z udogodnieniami dla dzieci i rodzin. Czyste pokoje, wyposażone we wszystko co potrzeba. Dobra lokalizacja aby zwiedzać Toskanię. Przemili i wyjątkowo pomocni gospodarze. Polecamy z pełnym przekonaniem!

Very peaceful place with friendly host, beautiful garden and a pool. Nice small city of Cetona nearby, although note that You will need some time to get to popular tourist destinations like Pienza, Siena, Pitigliano etc. On the other hand such distance makes this place absolutely quiet.

Beds were not very comfortable and sometimes late at night there was no hot water in the shower.

Świetna lokalizacja. Przestronny apartament, bardzo czysty. Super basen (codziennie czyszczony). Przeuroczy Właściciel :) Codziennie korzystaliśmy z przydomowego ogrodu pełnego pysznych warzyw ! Polecamy !!!

Giovanni is an amazing host! So welcoming and generous, offering us own made wine and olive oil! He gave us a tour of his property and was very kind to our toddler! He does not speak any English and we no Italian but we managed with translator and his son Fabio helped too!

Everything was fabulous! Great place with good facilities inside to cook yourself and relax. Very peaceful, pool was perfect temperature for hot summer days and afternoon sunsets were lovely looking over the distant hills. Lots of toys and activities for kids to play with and animals to go see!

Beautiful property, full of charm and with wonderful views. Walkable to Cetona about 2km away. Spotlessly clean, with lovely pool and gardens. San Giovanni was a wonderful host. It was lovely to return after nearly 20 years.
