Eikelaan Farm Cottages

The lady who received us wasn't the most outgoing. I think her name is Jess

The serenity. The fridge was clean and held a good temp. Liked the water soft water from the shower. Enjoyed the stillness.

Cottage wasn't swept clean on the stoep. Curtain rail broke. The remotes for the TV wasn't fully functioning. Bedding pillow case was torn. Dead insects on the wall and in the light fittings plenty dead insects. Aircon didn't heat up. Lighting was too dim. Chair at the dining table broken seat hubby nearly fell. Front door struggled to lock. The brown Towels wasn't something that I wanted to use. Bedroom cupboard had a cracked mirror. Outside Pool wasn't clean. The farm store was scary looking not well kept.

The cottages are roomy, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the farm life feel is great for the kids and dogs. The fireplace kept us warm on a wet Saturday night. Beds are big and comfortable. It's far enough from town to feel like you are on the farm, and close enough to still enjoy the wine farms and the beauty of Tulbagh :)

I think it is worth noting that the one-bedroom cottages are right next to each other- so if you are only renting one of them, you are a very close to your neighbor. This was not an issue for us, because we rented both, and it worked out lovely for two families. I'd suggest that they take more pictures to show the cottages inside and outside to get a better idea of the setup and proximity to the other house.

Eikelaan was just supposed to be a bed to sleep in as we were in town for a wedding.. It was so relaxing and amazing that it turned out to be the highlight of the accommodation.

Throw a breakfast in and I would never have left.

Great cottage. Lovely spacious bedroom, plush bed. Views. Quiet. Welcoming but private.  Small farm stall on the property a neat plus.  5min drive to town, restaurants and good wine farms. Loved it.  (Just a couple of chunky farm-made rusks, for those a little unprepared, would've been the gold star :))

Dec was our 3rd time for the year 2022 staying at Eikelaan Farm and we always love it

We always stay at the house 2 bedroom , this time we stayed in 1 bedroom cottage as the house was booked already. The kitchen was very poorly equipped if I am completely honest , the toilet was leaking on arrival this should have been checked but was fixed which we appreciated. The baby cot needs to be replaced it’s broken ( net on the sides ) there is metal that is exposed on the outside it’s had it’s days.
