Masseria Corte degli Asini

There are lots of Masseria's in the area but Corte degli Asini really is the best! Wonderful location behind the small town of Montalbano, easy to reach Cisternino, Locorotundo and Ostuni but felt you were in the middle of nowhere. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were large and immaculately kept, air con was powerful which was very welcomed! Pool area is beautiful and the restaurant courtyard is so pretty to sit out in an evening, However, our main reason for choosing to stay was the food - and it did not disappoint!! Breakfast every morning was just superb, so much choice and the freshly squeezed orange juice was wonderful. Lunch was available on request and usually a salad and pasta dish, again all homemade and so tasty. In the evenings, there was the 3 course option with wine and water for around 30-35 euros which was unbelievable value for money compared to other places we looked at. The food was great, some dishes were a bit random - we were told it was the chef fantasy - but so nice to be able to just relax in an evening and not have to venture out if we didn't want to. We even enjoyed a night watching Eurovision with cocktails!! We will def be back!

Just a note the roads leading to the Masseria are not maintained and can be a bit ropey, especially in an evening!

Very peaceful location and beautifully appointed. Restaurant for residents only, but absolutely lovely, locally sourced produce... Fabulous!

Very nice, privately-owned and -run Masseria with friendly staff and cute animals, in particular the donkeys. Simple, but charming and clean rooms. Great breakfast, good and moderately-priced restaurant. We would certainly stay at the Masseria again when returning to Puglia.

Lovely quiet location, very well kept structure, great pool, extremely friendly staff, big room, exceptional food.

Not cheap but worth the money.
