Quinta das Aveleiras

This is a very special place. It is high about town in a vineyard. The road up there is very steep and narrow hair pin curves. Exactly what we love! So there is a bonus on the flair of the place.

Although the road to the accomodation is a bit of a climb, the view and the house was so worth it. The walk to and from town (20 minutes to town, 25 back!) is very managable, just be prepared for the climb on the way back. Stop and take in the views is what we did! The breakfast that was left for us was amazing and had everything you would need. The rooms very very well appointed with heating and cooling if needed in what ever time of the year you are there. Perfect for a group of up to 6 people meeting up or travelling together. Showers were hot. Shade outside was from mature trees.

The ony thing as I said would be the climb. We were on motorcycles and if you were not a confident biker, the turns could be tricky for you. No issue for us however. The bed linen was all clean and nice. I did feel that my bed linen might have been slightly damp though. Maybe to do with the house standing for long periods with no guests, being left with heat off and the damp weather and an old building contributing to it. I did wake up feeling colder/damper than I should have due to that. I would advise that the bedding should be prepared or checked the day or two before guests stay this time of year (April).

What a wonderful surprise zigzagging up the farm track to the very top, and there it was: a lovely little authentic house with all the conveniences and a breathtaking view!! We just loved staying in this place and would have liked to have stayed longer, but it was booked! The weather made that we could have dinner outside. Thank you for your care of this little jewel.

The property is located in a beautiful surrounding. The views from the house are lovely and the nature around the house is magnificent. The location is great for sightseeing in the area. We had was spacious house, with a living room and two large bedrooms with an en-suite in each room. There are air conditioners in both bed rooms. The house was clean and the kitchen was relatively well equipped.

I was there in December and it was very cold. The only heating in the living room was the fire place and it did not really menage to warm up the room. It was freezing cold in the living room and in the kitchen. The living room was very dark and there are not enough electric sockets. The blankets in the bedrooms are woollen blankets and didn’t really do the job so I had to sleep with the air conditioner throughout the night, which wasn’t great.

The place was perfect, very cozy, the location its top, details like the welcome basket will recommend to friends

I know it’s old houses completely renovated but in this days ppl need to charge all kind of electronic stuff, add some outlets especially on the rooms by the beds ☺️

No one to greet. Mattresses were poor. Breakfast ingredients extremely basic. Toaster didn’t work.
