We greatly enjoyed our stay in the Quinta. The location is rural It is a great getaway for exploring the mountains, river beaches and the authentic villages. Parking was in front of the house. Driving the narrow roads to the accommodation could be little bit adventurous but with the smaller car is manageable. We had a double room with large terrace looking over the valley. Our room was smaller but cozy. The bed was comfy with the quality bedding. Bathroom was tastefully updated. The whole house is tastefully furnished with the antiques and art. Breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room and it offered a good selection of food. The owner was friendly and helpful. We appreciated evening herb tea and selection of tasty local cheese in the morning.

The breakfast was very good. The apartment is very, very quiet and isolated. The owner is very generous and even prepared For us, a list of recommended points of interest that we really liked

The flow in the shower was weak for part of the family the apartment was too isolated

It is a guest house in an old traiditional stone building covered by beautiful azulejos. A beautiful gigantic camelia tree grows beside it and the woner keeps peapocks. Inside it is full of old nineteenth centrur or oder paintings and arttefacts so it is a nice place for a person like history and victorian-like interior. The owner is super friendly and the breakafst is really large.

amazing experience

authentic place, originally a winery and olive farm. looking out over valley of river Alva and small typical village Avo. The house was full of antique furniture as well as the room with nice balcony. In the old whine making facility there is a relaxing area with tv sit, pool biljart and table football. Of course a fridge with nice local beers. Plenty of walking tracks in the area as well as interesting city’s and waterfalls nearby. The owner Manuel and assistant (?) Antonio are very friendly and helpful. When we stayed there, there were no other guests, but felt like home so no problem. Another thing we loved was the breakfast in beautiful room with valley view . Plenty of delicious local cheeses, hams, jams, breads, fruits and coffee. Best start of the day!!! Will recommend this to our friends and family.

perhaps the bed is a bit hard, according to my GF. but for me was ok as I am used to it.

Wonderful family-owned inn run by the great- grandson of the gentleman who built the Quinta da Tapada. Loved speaking with him and hearing the history of his family and seeing the pictures that are all around the inn. We visited Piodão nearby and decided to stay at Quinta da Tapada in Avô. We are very happy that we did. Rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was delicious! Highly recommend!
