Masseria Santacatrini

Location was nice, near to highway. Bathroom was nice execpt upper shower was not working or it turns off when you enable it. AC was working fine. Wi-Fi connection was good also TV. Giovanni is very nice host, he gave us all the important tips how to reach and where to park in turist destinations. He promptly answer and solve our questions/problems.

We were in apartment split level 60 m2 next to reception room which is also accessable through blue doors beside kitchen in this apartment so we were hearing music playing in reception room and also host talking to other guests. I mention this beacuse in description it was stated that apartment has sound proof walls. Beside that, we didn't hear any other guests. We didn't like upper floor because the roof is so low that I hit my head against it several times no matter how hard I was trying to stay low while walking in/from bed. Also this apartment is meant to be for 5 persons. There is no way that 5 persons could sleep in this apartment because 2 sofa beds are terrible to sleep on them. You can feel wooden brackets on your back. Over the sofa is some foam mattress which is too soft. I have slept only 1 night on this sofa bed and my back was hurting a lot next day. During 8 nights stay they have changed towels and took the garbage out only once. Second time we need to ask them. We didn't expect daily cleaning service, as described on booking, but every second day would be great. I also have to mention that host has 4 dogs, 1 is on chain, 3 are running free but are very kind and curios also. They bark when you arrive or leave and sometimes also at night. I think this apartment is overpriced because 3 persons can't sleep on sofa bed on ground floor.

We loved the restoration of the building, while staying true to the origins of the place with an original olive press. Clean and so helpful. Actually stayed in to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere one of the evenings. This Is Why people visit Sicily. Authentic experience.

A perfect spot : the olive groves in a mountain setting. Great hosts with an eye for every detail. An ideal place to retreat after the exploration of eastern Sicily. A place to love.

This is a perfect place to stay if you are planing to visit Catania, Siracusa and other cities on the eastern cost of Sicily. The owner, Giovanni was very nice and helpful, he gave us a lot of useful tips and recommendations. On the first days we asked for breakfast and it was very good. The apartment had everything needed for a comfortable stay and it also was very beautiful:) we would love to come back here when visiting Sicily next time :)
