Quinta Da Marka

A localização e a quinta são excelentes. Fomos muito bem acolhidos por uma equipa fantástica, que nos fez sentir em "casa" e nos mimou. Comida caseira muito bem elaborada acompanhada de vinhos de muito boa qualidade.

Beautiful small hotel. We did a wine tasting which was also great. I highly recommend. Comfortable and relaxed. Wish I could have spent more time there.

Wunderschön gelegene kleine Quinta, inmitten der Douro-Weinberge. Der Ausblick - speziell von der großen Terrasse - ist sensationell: nichts als Landschaft, Douro und Wein, in satten warmen Farben. Auf dem Hügel im Rücken thront weiß leuchtend die prächtige Quinta do Crasto. Die Lage ist herrlich - es ist besonders nett, mit dem Auto die wild gewundenen Sträßchen durch die Weinberge zuzufahren. Allerdings holt einen bei Bedarf das Team auch beim Bahnhof ab - die Zugstrecke unmittelbar neben dem Douro ist ebenfalls empfehlenswert. Sehr gutes Essen, sehr freundliches und hilfreiches Personal. Die Quinta ist ganz im Stile eines alten englischen Herrenhauses eingerichtet - inklusive Teesalon und historischen Fotos an der Wand. Eine Top-Adresse im Dourotal - zwischen Peso da Regua und Pinhao.

recht kleine Zimmer - aber die nützt man ja ohnedies nur zum Schlafen...

Ângela was a superior host and bent over backwards to make sure we felt welcome. She made calls for us to local vineyards, made dinner reservations for us, and provided a wealth of local information. The kitchen staff was friendly and kind and prepared wonderful breakfasts and dinner for us

Some of the furniture needs a good cleaning. AC in the room would have been nice to have

Everything about Qunta da Marka was exceptional. Fantastic views of the river, great breakfast and dinner, a pool to relax after a tiring day, and the 2 best hosts in Angela and Anabela. I can't praise them enough for how they looked after us. The Quinta location is between Pinhao and Regua, and the drive which is only 40 minutes to either can be challenging. Angela very kindly dropped us at the station in Ferrao which is 5 minutes away and then picked us up when we needed pick up, saving us the longer drive. And Anabela and her staff prepared the most fabulous meals. Each night was a set menu but was traditional home cooked food. Staying at Quinta da Marka was like staying in a home.

THe only negative was the drive to the Quinta, but Angela provided options which made it very manageable. In fact if you wanted to you could get here by train.

Leider hatten wir nur Zeit für eine Übernachtung. Ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge ins Douro Tal und mehrtägiger Aufenthalt.
