Checking in was a disaster. There's nobody at the property to help you if you need it, and you have to make sure you have wifi or WhatsApp or a data plan in order to get the instructions the day you check in, if they remember to send the instructions to you. Forget it if you're on a flight that day, it would be a terrible experience waiting around. I booked the property two days before I was supposed to arrive, and immediately after booking, I messaged asking for check-in instructions as I wasn't sure whether I'd have Wifi until I arrived at the property. They didn't send the instructions. The day before, they asked me for my WhatsApp through booking's messaging system. Luckily, I did have wifi and I responded with: I don't have WhatsApp, please send me instructions on booking or my email (which I provided). They didn't respond until 5:30PM on my day of check in, and check-in time is 2PM. By then, I had already booked another spot. I didn't stay the first night I booked. As I had booked for a second night, they said the check-in instructions would be the same, but the code would be different. They sent me an email around 12:30PM that day saying my room is ready, but they didn't give me the code. I had to ask for the code, but at least they sent it quickly. Upon arrival, the doorknob for my studio didn't work. I emailed them and they didn't respond until 2 hours later. Ridiculous. Absolutely terrible experience.

Decent location, low price and fairly attractive not offensive décor. The place is quiet and seems safe.

I don’t appreciate the communication style of the owners/managers. I was sent a litany of rules and regulations a day before check in. Had I seen those on booking.com I would have never booked the place or I would have cancelled immediately. Beware that this place will surprise you with things like alcohol ban and will demand that you take your shoes off inside and take out your trash. It is a shame they don’t inform you where the dumpster is, as evidently it is nowhere near the building itself. The bathroom has a very tiny sink and little room for toiletries. Everything else is OK but most of the fixtures and furniture is of cheap variety. For example, “the mattress” is just a thin layer of foam. There is a washing machine but it is shared with other “rooms” at the facility. The combination locks are a pain in the neck to use. The owner/manager asked us for permission to enter the room to collect the payment while we were out. While it is not a big issue I feel like it could have been arranged more professionally. The room could really use some additional light source, like a night lamp. The ceiling light is very bright, but it is either this or complete darkness.

Great location in the city (but a bit difficult to find), apartment was clean and well equipped kitchen note this is a private apartment not a hotel

It is difficult to find and gain entry to the apartment, I would reccomend the hosts send the details in advance if you don't speak Russian I would recommend asking for the details before you try to find the property. This apartment does not have a front desk or similar hotel facilities (making this clear at booking would be good)

Nice inside. You need to be sure you have internet connectivity or it is difficult to communicate details for the complicated door pin system.

We had problems with our phone so it was very complicated to get in.

The room is fully equipped which is love with small kitchen facilities and it is also a walking distance to Zenkov Cathedral, Green Bazaar, and Zhibek Zholy station.

The host never met us. Although she was responsive via Whatsapp she never showed up to settle the payment as they only accept local currency cash. We arrived early morning from an evening flight and we didnt have enough cash with us. It was such a big hassle for us because she needed the payment at the specific time and she has sent a "maid" to get the money we ended up paying in USD and the rest in local currency that needs to be left on the table for which we ended up paying more because she didnt give us any change! We didnt bother arguing as we didnt want to ruin the trip by waiting for someone to personally talk to us. It should have been cleared that she doesnt accept card payment so could have prepared.
