Origami Boutique Residences

The apartment was stylishly and modernly designed. It was very clean and located in a quiet neighborhood, making it an ideal spot for those looking to relax during their stay.

Breakfast: Although a variety of options were offered, any modifications had to be communicated to the person in charge the night before. Additionally, on the first day, some of the products were expired. Light: The apartment is equipped with blackout drapes, but their placement still allows enough light to enter the room. Overall, given the price range, we believe there is still room for improvement and greater attention to detail.

The self check in was easy with the door code provided to us in advance of our stay. There is plenty of parking in the quiet street immediately outside the property. The property was very clean. A bottle of water, tea, & coffee were provided. The large bed was very comfortable, and the location was quiet day and night. The private pool area is small and not completely private, but it was a nice place to enjoy the sun. Ioanna, the owner, was very helpful throughout our stay. She gave us many suggestions of places to eat, places she and her family eat at. We had very good lunches at Taverna Melina near Mycenea, and at Mourmouraki on the beach at Tolos. Stavropoulos in Nafplio was good for souvlaki. Ioanna was always quick to respond to my whatsapp messages. The TV enabled me to use my Netflix account. The room was completely refreshed every day to a high standard. Breakfast was brought to the room at a time of our choosing and was substantial. We really enjoyed our stay. It's a great base for visiting the theatre at the Aesklepion of Epidauros and ancient Mycenae (both 30 minutes away by car). Whilst at the latter we visited the Treasury of Atreus.

The walk into the old town of Nafplio (about 15 minutes) currently takes you past the construction site of the new marina. Once this is finished, the walk will probably be much more pleasant. We walked it several times but also took the car at other times. There was plenty of free parking.

In Napflio, the distance from the museum is basically a proxy for how close you are to the "old" part of downtown. In our opinion the best part, since it's streets encompass almost the entire interesting history of this part of the Peloponnese (if more modern - like from the Byzantine Empire forward - you know, ONLY about the last 1,500 years or so, not the 3,500 or so in the surrounding hills). We were a pretty long walk from downtown (although it is accessible) but we were able to defeat that because we had a rental car and there ARE reasonable places to find parking. Also, parking at the property was easy (on the street) and safe. We were here for Orthodox Easter and, though severely jet-lagged had a beautiful Good Friday experience with the procession of handmade flower "floats" from each of the ancient churches in town as they processed for hours to Syntagma square and a delightful assembly of mostly locals singing songs. The part of town where we stayed had brand new grocery and bakery shops (the super-friendly Greek people DO LOVE their bakeries!!) and we met nothing but charming, helpful locals at every turn. Easy access from here to Epidavros (Sanctuary of Asklepion) and Mycenae neither of which should be missed. The other Heinrik Schleimann "uncovery" of Tiryns is close by, tho we didn't create time to visit. Beautiful drives to each place, all within about 35 minutes from Napflio, and we found a neighboring (rival?) town of Tolo where we spent some quality time, including the ability to watch the "Judas burning" on Easter Sunday evening ... with a great fireworks show ... a treat we didn't know about nor expect. This part of the Peloponnese should not be missed!

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Origami Boutique Residences and highly recommend it. It is a lovely, stylish, modern and very comfortable small hotel located in a peaceful residential area about 10-15 minutes walk from the heart of the delightful old town of Nafplio. It is also a perfect base for exploring the wider region, if you have a car available. A fantastic breakfast is delivered to your room daily. Perhaps most appealingly of all, the residences are owned and run by great people who are brilliantly friendly and helpful.

Very nice and helpful staff, quite, very modern Apartment and cosy, very much and good breakfast. Comfortable bed for big and small people.
