Creta Mare Hotel

Great sea view from the room, the room is big, light, the bid bed is very comfortable, room service every day, fresh and clean towels every day, location is amazing, 3 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from the village restaurants and cafes area. And there is parking. I loved the hotel very much 😍

A beautiful view from the room and balcony. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed and exceptionally clean with rooms serviced 6 days a week. Opposite the beach and a short walk to main street, shops and tavernas etc. Plakias is much quieter than the busy resorts in the north or Crete but welcomes tourists. There are plenty of tavernas, restaurants, cafes and shops and people are very friendly.

Although there is a fridge, kettle and coffee machine a couple of mugs, teaspoons and glasses, a couple of plates or dishes and a little more cutlery would be welcome for the days when you want to have a simple breakfast or snacks. This doesn't detract from all the good points!

Great view and a clean, well kept room.

The room was large, very comfortable bed and balcony with amazing sea views. The evenings with cold drinks on balcony were magical. Small kitchenette in the room was useful. The location also good in calmer part of Plakias. Around 8 min walk from bus station.The beach close to hotel is not the best for swimming (lots of stones) but within a minutes of walk you can reach amazing Plakias beach with beach bars (reasonable prices and good food). It was a comfortable stay because of amazing balcony and cleanness.

I didn't like that nobody greeted me when I arrived at hotel. Never met anyone at reception during my stay. Also the checkout was a bit of a misunderstanding but we clarified things, so no problems.. I would really suggest the staff to try to greet the guests and provide more kind attitude.

There was a stunning view from our room. The room was spacious and comfortable. Situated just a 5 minute walk from the main bars and restaurants but it was quiet. Maria, Ena and Lina were all friendly and professional, lovely staff members.

Spectacular sea view from the balcony. Great location on the quite, western side of Plakias but only walking distance to nearby tavernas and shops. The room was cleaned regurarly and breakfast was served daily. Rooms were good size and beds very comfortable. The owner Mr Giorgos and the lady at reception Ms Maria made sure that we had an unforgettable time at Creta Mare Hotel. We will return for sure.

Nothing really. No complaints.

Very well situated, had stayed before, beach across the road. Staff very pleasant. Bed very large and comfortable. The balcony was good with an excellent view. The room lighting was good for reading in bed but inadequate for sitting to read, write, consult a map etc or do anything else.

We had breakfast on the first day but thought it overpriced for cereal, yogurt and bread. A toaster would have been an improvement, with some good jam. Only packaged marmalade was offered. There were items of fruit but a fruit salad would have been preferable. There were items possibly suitable for the taste of Greeks but not for us unfortunately. More than one dish and plate in the cupboard in the bedroom would have been nice.

A place I keep coming back to – perfect for our painting retreat! This is already the second time I’ve returned to CretaMare Hotel with my painting group, and I would come back again without hesitation. We choose this place for its incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere – the staff treat you like family, always kind and attentive. The location is truly special: the hotel is just a couple of minutes’ walk from the center of Plakias, yet it’s completely peaceful. From our balconies and terraces we can see the sea, hear the waves, and enjoy full tranquility – without the noise of the town. There is also direct access to the beach – you’re literally there in seconds. The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast on the terrace is lovely, and every time we come back, we notice something renewed or improved. The hotel greets us with open arms and a warm heart. This place is a gem – and I know I’ll be returning again and again.
