Cucu Hotel El Cuyo

Clean, comfortable close & to the beach. Pool was nice.

We we were there in the shoulder season so many of the recommended and highly rated restaurants were closed, due to open from 2 Nov. Check that you are booking at the right time if you want to take advantage of these restaurants. There is no privacy in your hotel room as the rooms all overlook each other.

Amazing place to stay in El Cuyo, we had a great time staying at Cucu. The room was very comfortable, nicely designed and clean, the breakfast and morning coffee delivered to the room every morning were delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. When we come back to El Cuyo we will definitely stay in Cucu again.

The rooms are large and spacious and beautifully decorated. The mattresses were comfortable and the sheets crisp. AC. Management, Mauricio, and his wonderful staff were attentive and detailed to our comfort. The establishment is detailed. The rooms were stocked with Italian percolators and coffee, fresh cold drinking water, beach towels and even provided us with beach chairs and umbrellas for a comfortable beach experience. I highly recommend staying at Cucu Hotel El Cuyo when visiting this charming beach town. Say hi for me.

Mosquitos outside environment. However, Mauricio was very mindful in providing good quality bug repellent and citronella candles when outside. Mosquitos were no problem in rooms. He informed us they fumigate regularly, but, come on, we were in a humid jungle after all. To be expected.

Excelente atención del personal y hermosas instalaciones. El desayuno esta muy bueno, la atencion de mauricio y leo excelente, Súper recomendado. Volveria nuevamente!

Excellent staff

It’s a bit of a walk out of the town

Oasis of tranquility. This is a faboulus place, hidden away at the outskirts of El Cuyo. There is no resturant on the property, but a basic kitchen. We went for drinks and dinner at the nearby Cancocal hotel (~100m). They have bikes that you can borrow for free, to explore the small village. We went fishing one day, highly recommended, made our own ceviche in the kitchen!

Just as a general comment, not relevant to Cucu Hotel, the mosquitos in El Cuyo were generally quite bad at night when we visited (July 2024), and we had to get our dinner to-go on two of our four nights there. Couldn't sit at the restaurant.

La verdad estuvo todo muy bien con el servicio del hotel, la calidad de la habitación y es que tenía una muy buena vista y ubicación

Wonderful little hotel in a great little town. El Cuyo is VERY quiet but also very relaxing

Perhaps the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. Everything was perfect- the staff, the room, the pool, the location, the breakfast…will be back!
