Ocean View

Owner was lovely and very helpful, ocean is literally across the street and close to good restaurants and cafes, large room/appartment with lots of amenities at a reasonable price.

The four square is a 25 min walk away so while there is a oven etc I didn't use them as I didn't have a car. Not even a dairy for basic stuff nearby. In general Whakatane is better suited to people with cars. Bit of mould on the window sills, average comfyness of bed (ok for a night or two but might not want to stay 2 weeks type thing), kinda what you'd expect for a bungalow type beach place at such a reasonable price, but don't be surprised this isn't a hotel.

Very welcoming and friendly hosts with great communication, comfy bed with quality linen, plenty of soft towels and well equipped kitchen. An immaculately clean apartment. Highly recommend and will definitely book again.

We were in the "Penthouse Apartment" which has a great view of the ocean and beach. After your walk on the beach you can relax in the lounge with the ranch sliders open and watch others and the sea or sit on the private deck. The accommodation was well appointed and clean. friendly owner and staff. Would definitely take this room again.
