Everything was brilliant!

It’s a huge compliment to Sylvie and JC that this is the third time we’ve been to Monte Bougainvillea. The apartments are lovely, everything has been thought of, the grounds are great and the setting is perfect. Little extras from Sylvie like home made preserves and some home cured olives were a lovely touch, and the welcoming provisions so thoughtful and helpful.

The bed was very comfortable. The view was outstanding, although I think ours was the only terrace from which you could see it fully. The garden and pool area was lovely and I think that with good weather and if you just want to sit by the pool all day it would be perfect. It was a quiet area. The kitchen was well-equipped and the groceries were appreciated.

Firstly, the promised free car and taxi were not included after all. The owners did call us beforehand to offer to let us cancel (but would not offer a price reduction) but as it was so close to our arrival we decided to bite the bullet and pay for our own car hire. Secondly, the washing machine was not, as listed, in the kitchen, but actually a shared one in a separate building down a hill, which was extremely inconvenient, especially in the wet and pitch dark. In addition, there was a storm while we were there, in advance of which the owners practically insisted that we move from the ground floor to the first floor because of the 'humidity'. The first floor apartment then leaked in a lot of water in multiple places but the owners said this was to be 'expected' in a storm. Personally, I do not expect a house to leak whatever the weather. Other small things were that the wifi was not secure and the internet was patchy; the living room was not at all cosy and the TV was oddly placed so it was awkward to see from the sofa. Some items in the kitchen were not clean. It is not ideal as a sightseeing base because the surrounding roads are poor.

Beautiful hill top location away from the busy coastal strip Our warm and welcoming hosts had thought of everything for the apartment making it a wonderful experience The pool is great and very well maintained our only regret was we didn’t spend more time in and near it There are some beautiful and interesting walks nearby but do get out early to avoid the heat.

Nothing to not like but you will need a car to get around and the time passed too quickly 🙂

Absolutely quiet location with perfect star view at night and remote see view during the day. Sylvie and JC are wonderful hosts, very discreet and helpful, the apartment has everything we needed. The beds are perfect. We didin't want to go back home.

Absolutely beautiful villa with gorgeous salt water pool, very peaceful and relaxing and so many nice touches including a well stocked honesty bar fridge, garden games, loan of a car and considerate attention from the hosts.
