Residence Alleterme

The use of the pool is not free to residents. They kindly let me use it on arrival without charge but found the pictures a little misleading.

I have family in the area, and know Rivanazzano well. It is a beautiful little town with great restaurants and all of them are just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The staff were helpful and very friendly, the room was clean, and the bed very comfortable.

In summer, that area of Italy reaches 40 degrees celcius, at times even hotter. Inside, at night, the bedrooms retain that heat. How can a hotel rent out rooms in an area with that climate, with NO air conditioning, NO fly screens on the windows, and NO fans of any kind in the rooms? I hate leaving negative reviews, but on this occasion, I have to say that I will never stay there again. The nights were hell. The rooms stayed around 45 degrees. There are no fly or security screens fitted to the room balcony door or window, and the area has a very high mosquito population. So, if you open the window to try and let in a little air, you also invite in dozens of mosquitos... as we did on our first night. We woke covered in bites. The other reason you can't open the window and blinds to let in air at night, is that the balcony is shared access with 4 or 5 other rooms. So, others can see you on the bed, or worst case, simply walk in and help themselves to whatever they like. Nights 2 and 3 of our stay can only be described as trying to sleep in hell. No air. 45 degrees. No air conditioning. Can't open a window. My fiancè cried both nights. It's such a shame, because the hotel itself is beautiful. But without some way of reducing the horrifically high overnight temperatures, the rooms are uncomfortable and impossible to get any sleep in. If they fit air conditioning, we'd stay again. But until then, not even if they paid me.
