La Porta di Mignana

Fantastic views and sunset! Lovely swimming pool and very comfortable bed.

We were sent a message to say that check in starts at 4pm. On Booking.com it says check in is from 1400 which is when we would have liked to arrive. I should have questioned this beforehand but we delayed our arrival until after 3pm and we found that our room was actually ready for us.

Our apartment was at a hill with great view on surrounding area. It's very peaceful although it's not so far from nearest larger city. interior was neatly decorated and living room is very spacious and comfortable. Position is very good since there are a lot of interesting places to visit within max 90 minutes of driving.

Heating wasn't working for one night when it was pretty cold, and communication with the owner wasn't very smooth due to her not understanding English and me not understanding Italian.

The welcome from Filomena and Madelief was wonderful. There is a beautiful shared space where you can find herbs and spices, but also really good wine. If you have any questions during your stay, they are readily available and willing to help you. The house itself was nice and clean and had all the necessary amenities. The location is very convenient. You can take a train from Empoli to get to Firenze in under 30 minutes, and the surrounding area of Vinci is beautiful to drive through. All in all: would highly recommend staying here!

It took a little bit longer for the hot water to come in, but this improved during our stay. Therefore, it could have been due to the fact that the water had to be transported uphill.

We liked the location, it must be amazing in the summer, because now it was too cold to use the swimming pool. The house has a nice view and the apartment was very spacious and furnished with antique furniture.

It is just my opinion, but it was too cold for my taste. If there wasn’t an extra blanket in the dresser, I wouldn’t be able to sleep.

Location was perfect. Up on a hill overlooking the beautiful Tuscany landscape. The owner was very friendly and easygoing. Very authentic building.

It was way too cold in the building and the bed did not have a proper blanket.

- very detailed authentic place. everywhere You look everyrhing is made of authentic furniture, paintings, you feel really comfortable and in Da Vinci origins - quiet place with many places to taste local wines, olives, cheese. - parking on site, pool, fully equipped kitchen, small surprises to taste, small details like historic doors, saloons etc.

- cold rooms because of offseason - no wood for fireplace fire available

the location is good, very close to Vinci. the staff is also great, the property has a great view.. the small houses finely decorated.

the room (or the house) had an unbearable smell from the toilet.. even though the window is open, it was all over the place. as we stayed in March, the weather was cold and the heating was not enough. the kitchen was lovely but I wouldnt say it was functional. there was no plug for the kettle and the ones on the walls were not fitting. we had to plug out the small heating and plug in the kettle etc. this is also OK but the smell can make you throw out..

One of our best accomodation so far via booking.com, Property itself and host and their support and kindness to help during the overall stay...We had amazing time at this property but while checking out we forgot something at property and host informed us promptly and pleasant gesture also informed me that they will post this to our home address as we could not return and pick. Also overall information and support from host was amazing and the host was available to asnswer any questions during our entire stay. The property is located in very nice quite area overlooking the city.. the swimming pool and other aminities are great... though the swimming pool was not open during december the view from entire property was amazing,....

Very nice apartment; spacious, quiet and comfortable with a nice view, a private terrace. You have everything to cook into the place, the hosts are super available and kind. The location is very strategic, outside of the chaos, on the top of the hill but well located. I totally recommend this place.
