Hidden of Cailan Inn

We kwamen aan bij ons verblijf en we moesten eerst gaan zoeken waar de eigenaar was, via een ander verblijf naast Hidden of Cailan Inn hebben we gevraagd of zij contact konden opnemen met de eigenaar. We hebben 30 min gewacht, begroet ons nog vriendelijk en zegt gelijk dat er geen wifi is en dat iedereen in de buurt geen wifi heeft (was dus niet waar in het zelfde staatje zat een restaurantje met wifi). Daarna gaf ze ons de sleutels en vervolgens is ze nergens meer te bekennen. Bij binnenkomst in het appartement rook het muffig en niet fris wat vooral kwam door het beddengoed. We wilde douchen maar die bleef koud. Er is verder ook niemand te bekennen bij het verblijf om iets te vragen. We hebben nog 1 nachtje geslapen in het appartement en zijn toen weggegaan. We zouden er 4 nachten slapen maar het voelde gewoon niet goed, jammer voor het geld maar hier blijven was voor ons geen optie. Toen we weg gingen die ochtend zei de eigenaar alleen sorry, heeft ze nog een tricycle geregeld (die we zelf betaald hebben) en ging ze weg.

Property does not have in house restaurant

El baño no tiene nada que ver con el resto de los baños de Nido, muy cuidado y cómodo. Si quieres más toallas las pides y en poco tiempo te las traen.

Está lejos del centro (25min andando) y si ha llovido es todo un camino lleno de barro, muy incómodo y pesado de caminar. La habitación no se limpia ningún día, a pesar de estar 4 días allí. Y viniendo de playa se agradece una pasada de escoba ni que sea. Hay un gallo cantando cada 15min durante un rato, incluso por la noche. No se puede dormir sin tapones y sigue molestando mucho.

The inn is not too far from the main area of El Nido, about a 15 minute walk to the centre. The staff were friendly and the room was spacious.

We did encounter a few issues however. The inn itself is badly signposted and is down a dark road, so especially when walking back at night it is very difficult to find. This could be easily rectified with a sign at the top of the road. The owners also own a large XL bully type dog that they keep on a chain near the reception area, which jumped out and leapt at my partner, scaring us when we were walking back to our room in the evening. There is also never any staff members at the reception desk, making it hard to find anyone if we required anything. The room itself was not dirty but the bathroom was covered in flies. We were never offered to have our room cleaned for the 4 nights that we were there. At one point in the morning, the water shut off and wouldn’t work whilst we were having showers. We spoke to the owner who explained that this was because they had to clean the tank which is understandable, however we felt that we should have been certainly made aware of when this would be happening in advance, and shouldn’t really happen at a common time when people would be showering.

Host was amazing. Even dropped them good reviews via google. Everything exceeded my expectation!

Very friendly owner, the room itself was also nicely decorated and well equipped. I would have given 9-10 points but cannot for two reasons

It cannot be that the water supply simply stops for hours. I came back from the beach and needed to wash the sand off. No water, no shower. Next morning i had to leave early and wanted to shower before taking the plane- again no water. That cannot be for 65€ a night- which is high for philippines. Second many dogs barked in front of the flat for 3 hours, couldnt sleep. Better to bring very good earplugs. Again- the flat is very nice but but at least the water supply issue needs fixed
