"Don't recommend staying here"

2.0

Our stay was disappointing. The staff was often absent, leaving us unable to ask questions or communicate. The place and interior were not as nice as in the photos. The windows are covered and it is quite dark. The mountain view was minimal. Also, the services are not great. We had to wait for a rented motor that had no fuel. We used the laundry service and our laundry was returned late and wet. The advertised 'coffee on site' was only available during breakfast, but impossible to order because no one was there. The hotel is relatively far away from beautiful beaches and comparably expensive. Overall, this place over-promised and under-delivered, and we wouldn't choose to stay here again.

"Calm location"

8.0

The property is located just outside of the main town, it takes approx 10 min to walk along the beach. This makes it a very calm place with a good nights sleep with a nice air condition. Sweet personnel that helped with our laundry. We walked to the main city to grab a tricycle every time we wanted to go somewhere.

The shower and sink had some issues but nothing compared to other properties in the Philippines. Hot and nice shower

"Great property tarnished by power issues"

5.0

The property was very nice and big, the bathroom was decorated lovely and had good views from the bedroom window. We loved that the bedroom was set higher than the living space.

In our stay of 3 nights, we had at least 5 power cuts, which weren’t resolved quickly. This meant we couldn’t shower, brush our teeth, go to the toilet, charge our phones, turn the lights on etc. The staff explained that this was an island problem, but we didn’t experience this anywhere else and could see properties right next to us not experiencing any problems. They then said it localised issue and then an issue with their power generator which was due to be replaced in the coming days, on shipment from Manila…

"Avoid at all cost, no water and electricity for hours, far from el Nido."

1.0

The bed was confy. The dogs were lovely.

Too expensive for what you get: no water or electricity during hours! Their generator is broken and they don’t seem to take it seriously. At the price you pay, not being able to shower or charge your phone is not acceptable. It’s also very far from el nido and they didn’t offer any tuktuk service as I could read in other reviews. I wouldn’t recommend at all this place. The staff is also not helping, not even answering emails when we were without water and electricity (3 times in one night). They obviously refused any kind of compensation for the issues.

"Animal abusers"

1.0

Yes, the room does look nice. But besides the fact that there was no internet the entire time and several water and electricity problems noone should support animal abusers.

There is a small moonkey chained in front, the chain only 10cm long, digging into his flesh. We talked to the staff who said the owner had “saved” him. This is not a life! Please please please do the right thing and set him free or at least give him into capable hands.

"Overall, an excellent stay at this property. The owners couldn’t do enough to make sure I was taken care of."

9.0

Nice quiet, secluded location. Yet within walking distance to restaurants and bars, the owners went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of.

Sometimes no water pressure

"Large, modern apartment in quiet area but our experience was dampened by dogs"

7.0

Lovely, spacious and modern apartment. We actually loved the location - the fact it’s near the town square district which is super modern and had nice beach bars and restaurants. The walk to the town square is 10 mins and a further 5-10 mins to get properly into town so for us it wasn’t bad at all. The walk is well lit and felt safe, with a few nice hotels on the way so we didn’t feel totally out in the sticks ever.

Unfortunately we would love to rate this stay higher, but the staffs dogs were barking throughout the night right outside our door so we barely got any sleep. We then woke up to dog faeces everywhere outside our door and nearly stood in it multiple times. The smell was awful and the staff didn’t seem phased that this was an unpleasant situation for us. To be clear, these were the staffs dogs with collars on and not wild dogs so the situation could have easily been avoided. We also had issues with the water pressure and at times couldn’t even flush the toilet, or the water would stop whilst we were in the shower with shampoo in our hair. Totally not their fault as it’s dry season in Palawan so water is scarce, but it impacted our stay.

"A beautiful place in a peaceful spot"

9.0

Lovely staff team who were always on hand and booked us a great boat trip at short notice Beautifully decorated Super comfy bed Luxurious bathroom Lots of space Kettle and kitchen area although we only made hot drinks The walk to town has magnificent views and is no hardship at all. It’s such a lovely area with a village feel and good food places too like Mia’s for dinner and breakfast at Bella Athena Garden

The roosters like to wake up early but this is typical in the Philippines we are learning!

"Great place for a long stay in El Nido with your own kitchen and lots of space."

9.0

Great apartment style room with large bathroom, walk in shower, lots of space, air fryer, cook top, fridge, etc. Friendly staff In a quiet area Comfortable bed

The front desk was usually unmanned and it was difficult to find staff The water pump kept stopping so we would lose water in the middle of a shower. Though this seemed to be a problem in the whole neighbourhood so not the hotel’s fault. Not much in the immediate area

"Pleasant"

6.0

Spacious room Modern appartment

They could not pick us up from the bus station when arriving. First we needed to book a tuktuk to the town (was literally 5 minutes) and then they would come pick us up from there. We had to wait 15 minutes although they knew we were coming. They promised 2 free bottles of water every day, but no bottles to be found in the fridge. That's the absolute minimum in a country where tap water is not potable. Lots of ants in the room, after complaining they sprayed and left the dead ants on the floor. Staff wasn't helpful: we got a lot of wrong information about their own tour, what was included, could not even recommend 1 restaurant. When we asked them to help us book a ferry to Coron they gave us a price that was 1000 pesos more expensive than when booked online (and this was already a 'discounted' price according to them). We booked an island hopping tour through them because there was a discount. Only problem is that the staff at the hotel didn't know about the discount, so had to remind them 3 times. During the tour we got horrible food poisoning. So AVOID their travel company. Location isn't great. There is supposed to be a free tuk tuk to take you to the town center anytime, but more than half of the time it wasn't available. This meant we had to walk through a shady street past a cemetery every time. Half the price would be better valuation.
