Casa Rua Velha

Our stay at Casa Rua Velha was exceptional. Gina was a kind and responsive host, and checked in with us mid stay to see if we needed anything. The apartment was bright, airy and spotless. Walking distance to ferry and town. Street parking easy. Gina had local restaurant suggestions and started off our stay with a bottle of wine. Would highly recommend this stay. Faial a gem, too.

The welcome was very nice a friendly. We felt good. Modern equipment, clean, quiet, practically designed entrance. Quiet location near the port. We appreciate the dryer, because in the Azorean weather the laundry dries slowly. Nearby parking. Within walking distance of the port, cafes, restaurants. The hostess repeatedly checked to make sure everything was okay. We felt taken care of. The best place we stayed in the Azores.

There are a number of luminous stickers in the room (exit, fire safety, etc.). If you need complete darkness to sleep, take an eye mask. The washing machine door frames could be cleaner (I cleaned them myself), dirty sponge - probably by mistake.

The room was immaculate, clean, and so beautiful. There were amazing little touches that made staying there so special. There was lots of information about things to do, places to eat. The host even went out of her way to meet us to let us in late as our flight in had been delayed, she provided wonderful advice on places to eat which were so delicious. I would absolutely recommend this place, and hope to come back one day.

I travel extensively, this was the best lodging I have had in all these years. Exceptionally clean, with washer and dryer in the bathroom. Super host always at ready to assist.

There was nothing to dislike.

This is a modern, clean, beautiful apartment. It has everything you need for an extended stay, but a great value even if you are only staying one night. I can’t think of anything that would make this place better. Location is close to the ferry terminal, and everything else in Horta is only a short walk away. What are you waiting for? Book it now!

Everything. The unit was small but perfectly designed for maximum efficiency. Perfect for one - two people. Everything was well thought out including a cell phone in the unit for calls. There was also hand sanitation in outside hallway and in room. Bowl of fresh fruit , bottle of wine and macarons were put out for guest. Gina and Josue were wonderful hosts and were there if anything was needed. The hotel has an unassuming entrance , but quite nice inside. Good pizza restaurant very short walk from front door. Nice TV in good spot to watch from bed. Fridge , oven , cooktop , microwave and all dishes included in the unit. I would definitely stay here again. Frank Hernandez

Gina was very thoughtful - there were fresh fruit & flowers with a small bottle of red & macaroons to welcome me! My flight departs later in the afternoon & she let's me stay past my check out time & booked me a taxi to the airport. Attentive all the way.
