Beachfront 1 Bedroom Condo with Private Beach, Pool, Hot Tub

For the first thing the ad said beach front private beach there is no private beach there not even a beach there is a rocky cliff that drop down into a very rough ocean that you need to jump in your car to get too And then there was the factor of noise all day till very late at night from the people who was staying in the unit above our unit you could hear every step they made and it was very loud and to make things worst they had a child that was probably three or four years old who was running back and fourth all the time and at times sounded like he was dragging something across the floor I am not one to bitch about things but I feel like I got ripped off and the owner of this hell hole is not being honest with the people he rents too.

Basic accommodations with a pool and hot tub. The unit is in okay shape. These were built in 1975. There have been some updates. We noticed newer bamboo flooring. The owner left some nice amenities such as beach chairs, tennis rackets, pool inner tube, a cooler and umbrellas. Hot tub and pool are a nice amenity, along with grills.

Staff (lawn maintenance worker) was rude when we used the pool inner tube. Apparently no floatation devices allowed. Said we were disrespectful to Hawaiian culture by using it. It was left in the unit and we didn’t know. Door to bedroom was broken- not much privacy from living room where our children were staying. Bathroom floor tile had been painted and was peeling up in spots. Rooms get dusty since windows need to be open for air flow. Felt dirty, but understand the dirt comes in the windows. Screens are not well attached, one fell in. Geckos could come in with the gap with the screeens.

The location was okay. Entry was okay. The bed was okay. The shower was okay. The floor was okay.

The fan in the bathroom was very noisy. The paint on the tile floor was chipping off which I had never seen before. The kitchen was smaller than I expected- yeah it was a "full" kitchen but barely.

The condo was very near a black sand beach and nothing else was around it. That was nice as there was no traffic and no hustle and bustle. The complex pool had a very nice view of the beach. The laundry area was not in the unit but it was very close to the unit and open 24 hours. The shower was very nice and had good water pressure. The bed was a king size and comfortable. My son said the pull-out couch was decent. Decent price for Hawaii.

The code that was provided for the door did not work. I had to call two people to get the correct code. Once I got the correct code, I also found out that you have to press the check mark key. No where in the check-in directions did it say that. If I had not been able to reach a human, we would have been sleeping on the beach as it was late at night when we arrived and there is NOTHING anywhere near it. There was no table to eat. The counter had a tiny flip out portion and there were two very uncomfortable folding chairs. It was not at all good for a family of 3 to have a meal. There were only two bath towels that were in good condition. The rest of the towels were dingy, tattered, and stained. Some of the silverware and dishes in the cabinet were dirty with stuck on food. It looked like the previous guests licked their forks and put them back in the drawer. The walls and doors needed a scrubbing. The windows were glass and wood slats for closures. A couple of the windows would not close all the way. This made me bit worried with safety but it also meant that there was no noise block. The unit next door was super loud and their windows were only a few feet from the master bedroom windows. The neighbors were up and loud at 5:30 am each morning. This is certaintly not the fault of the owner of this unit but be aware that if you want a good rest, you may not get it if the neighbors are loud. There was no A/C in the unit. There were ceiling fans but they are not enough for a warm day. We were there the first week of April and it was too hot in the unit. If you want to be cool in the summer, this would not be a good choice for you.
