Kuwa Zanzibar

Very cozy hotel with amazing and very friendly staff and hosts. The room was very spacious with clean linens and good pressure in the shower. Breakfasts were amazing and here they can make good espresso as well. The swimming pool and some shadows around it could really provide some rest from the hot weather conditions on Zanzibar.

The hotel doesn't serve meal except some snacks and breakfasts, but there are many restaurants around, so it's not a big problem. The hotel doesn't have its own beach, but there's a bar nearby that the hotel has an arrangment with and it's possible to borrow the bar's sunbeds in exchange for a drink or some meal. During our stay there was always low tide of the ocean at the beach at Kuwa, and one must walk really long in order to manage to swim.

Amazing outside area with the most lovely staff. We enjoyed chilling outside in the hotel. Also very close to beach and restaurants.

Only breakfast available and drinks all day. But no kitchen.

Everything was as it should be. The personnel were great, especially thanks to Emanuel ( hotel manager), a very helpful person .If you need anything you can ask him directly. I would stay at this hotel again!

Super nice, friendly and helpful stuff. Small and family-like atmosphere. As the hotel only has a small number of rooms, you will get to know all other guests. Also, Kuwa really tried their best to get the community vibes going and initiated a Swahili dinner for everyone.

The Staff was very kind, and polite. They were helping us in anything we ask for. My kids have food intolerance, we got immeditaly breakfast without milk and egg. The apartment was cleand every they. We really enjoyed to stay here.

The kitchen sholud have more equipment. The fridge was in old condition.

Everything was amazing! The staff, location and area. Emanuel was really nice and helpful, always willing to help with anything, even when we bought water he offered to carry it for us in the room. The breakfast was amazing, everyday fresh fruit and amazing coffee. The place is very authentic and very nice. Also they kept our room really clean, changed the bedsheet everyday and moped the floor. I’d definitely recommned and I’ll definitely come back! 😊

Wonderful facilities. Amazing staff of the property. From the moment we arrived, we felt well looked after. Gloria, Emanuel, and Ester served us with a smile every day. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt relaxed every day of our 17-night stay. Breakfast was delicious, and the room was cleaned immpecably daily. The owners should be very proud of what they have created. This was our first visit to Zanzibar, and hopefully, it will not be the last. We love small establishments like this, and the proximity to the beach was wonderful. We needed to relax and that was delivered. I do hope that as time progresses that Kuwa does not lose its African charm. It will stay in our hearts for a very long time. Love you all. Martyn & Helen

The pool area was fantastic, so was the chill out area. Beautifully decorated. The apartment was a good size with everything you’d need, and this was the first accommodation with non stop hot water we have encountered!

The bed and pillows! So so hard we barely slept. And one pillow. You could literally feel all the past guests on both the mattress and pillows by ways of dents which ruined the whole experience of the apartment. The bar is also not very well stocked.
