River View Lodge

It was absolutely beautiful!!

This is an absolutely beautiful property. The photos are accurate and when we stayed (January) it was an exceptional value for the money. My husband and I already talked about booking this place again in warmer months - we loved our stay! Book this property - you won't be disappointed!

The following comments are VERY picky - I wish there would have been glassware in the rooms (they provided plastic) you could find some glassware in the kitchen area. I also found it odd that the refrigerator was located in the bathroom. There was Keurig coffee in the kitchen and I feel they should offer the same in the rooms and provide basic coffee, there were too many flavored options. If we wanted other coffee there is a Starbucks and a Fareway grocery store across the street! I would have appreciated having a dishwasher in the kitchen to put the glassware we did use, you are asked to hand wash glasses before you go. The pool was cold for the time of year we visited - I am sure during summer months it would be amazing.

Pool was chilly, but still very nice. Garbage was full in the bar area, I’m sure it was a mishap.

The rooms were large and plenty of supplies. The property itself was very pretty and well maintained. Beautiful setting! Commons area was exceptionally modern and beautiful. We had a great time.

The location is good right off the exit pretty much. Grocery store next door and a few places to eat close by. Only thing bad about the location was the train that comes through every so often. Especially in the middle of the night. The horn is jarring if youre in a deep sleep. The property was clean and very modern. There was no staff to greet us on a Saturday. It felt more like an airbnb than a hotel. Codes used for all door access including room door. The 200 rooms share a common space with fireplace. But there is no patio access from individual rooms which was a bummer. Rooms were very nice. Plenty of towels and nice linens.

Having a staff member present at check in would make it more of a hotel vibe. No one to greet us or explain how things work. There was another guest who rented 201 across from us for her 18 yr old daughter and she was surprised to see us there. She must have thought she had the whole place to herself. So a little more explaining on how things will be ahead of time would be better as well. The train blows all hours of the night so it wakes you up. Had there been a fan in the room to utilize it may have drowned out some of that noise. Plus we like to sleep with a fan for noise anyway. The driveway portion up to the building is curved so its kinda tricky navigating in the dark. Theres a big rock and grass right behind that spot. Id suggest backing into the parking spot to make easier exit.
