Krinelos Rooms

Easy walk to the beach and shopping area.

We were not given the room we selected and paid for through booking.com We booked a two-room apartment on the ground floor with a private patio and a garden view. What we got when we arrived was two adjoining rooms on the second floor, no patio and a view of a construction site. We were 5 people. My husband and myself our two teenage children and my mother. In the second room for my mother and the kids there were two single beds and a very small and dirty cot. I had emailed twice before we arrived to make sure we would have three beds. I gave them the age of my kids (two teenagers) my son could not fit on the cot and the frame was all bent. One of the rooms we were given did not have a flushing toilet and the staff were not helpful about fixing it. They told us you have two rooms use the other bathrooms and we will come by tomorrow to fix the toilet. After the person who was trying to fix the toilet left there was gross toilet water left on the bathroom floor and the toilet still did not work! We had to ask multiple times to move rooms to get the two rooms that had been booked for our family through booking.com. I have been to Eresos before and in fact have stayed at the Krinelos Rooms years ago and had a good experience. How ever this time was very different. We speak enough Greek to overhear the staff talking about how the place was over booked. They had multiple guests showing up without receiving the rooms they had booked. At the end of our stay the owner tried to say we owed additional fee because we changed rooms. They also insisted the fees could not be added to the credit bill or paid with credit card because it would affect their taxes, so they needed us to pay the extra fees in cash.

Great location, very friendly owner. Rooms have recently been painted so the whole place looks fresh.

The location.

It was scruffy and unmodernised. The cleaning was very erratic. Often there was none whatsoever. Bins filled up with used toilet paper, ànd weren’t emptied. Floors were dirty and the bathrooms weren’t cleaned. The place needs modernising and upgrading as it is like 1970s student accommodation.
