Beach Front Vintage Villa Kalliktratis

A magnificent and very polite owner. A place where hospitality is the definition. Hiden in the shade, near a very good restaurant and just across the sea which has clean waters with a smooth entrance. Highlly recomended.

the apartment has some weaknesses with the bathroom and sound isolation from above but it won't be something you pay too much attention to, so absolutely you would like to stay again it's we were 3 adults and one 6-year child but it,s ideal for two because is one big one room apartment also has all neccesary items and much more in the kitchen and in the backyard is awesome for little kids and barbecue enjoyment location is great facilites is ok (depends what u want from your vacation) beach is regular and for the end i would not going to rate with 10 because i feel that it is a just little bit overprized for what u get in whole Although we stayed during peak season.

Very close to the beach, and because of this we never had to take any belongings with us. We stayed at the ground floor and had access to the patio in front and garden in the back. The bbq in the garden was also great, you just need to buy some coal. There was a canoe and paddle board to use, and that was just super fun to try out, especially if you have bigger kids like we did. Umbrellas and sunbeds were provided, we just had to take them a few meters to the beach. There are also sunbeds at beach where you can pay for a drink and stay there, belonging to the hotel nearby. Parking is just in front of the villa complex, outside but reserved for us and it was safe. Far from the folks that parked on the street that were coming to the beach. The host was just amazing, we felt very welcomed and helped with advice on where to shop or what restaurants to eat. And was prompt in answering any concerns. Cleaning is once a week which was enough for us. Couple of restaurants near by, the one we liked the most was in Galina just a few minutes walk by the beach. Try it out. Beat value for money and authentic. The one at the hotel is great as well.

We are extremely disappointed both by the host and by Booking.com. When we looked at booking a villa for the period of 20-23.09.2024 we came across this property and really liked what we saw on the pictures. We didn’t ready any reviews though and that might have saved us the unpleasant, to put it mildly, stay that we had to endure. As we departed on Friday after work the soonest we were able to reach the property was around 23-00 o’clock, which meant that we couldn’t make it on time to have a normal check-in, in person with the host. We received instructions and a video via Whatsapp on how to get into the property. To our unpleasant surprise we found out that we were given the ground floor of a 3-storey house of which there wasn’t and still isn’t a single photo of on Booking.com. Needless to say that the ground floor looked nothing like the rest of the house. It was furnished with old furniture, the sofa was almost as hard as a rock, it was also covered by a blue blanket because I’m assuming it was stained from prior usage. The beds in the double room were of awful quality with one feeling like you laid on a table with a few layers of blankets acting as a mattress. Also, all the furniture in the double room was probably from the seventies and eighties. On top of everything there were mold stains on the wall and near the door, and the smell was quite unpleasant. The “master” bedroom was also a strange combination of old furniture and modern amenities such as a light intensity lamp. The board behind the bed was very stained. In both bedrooms there were clothes. There was also a smell of mold in this room too. There were also shampoos and conditioners in the bathrooms. It appeared as if we were given the part of the villa that the owner uses occasionally or lends to friends and family.

The bathrooms beside having cosmetics were deeply contaminated, especially in the shower area/cabin. Same applies to the toilets too. We also seldomly enjoyed modern amenities like hot running water, which for the three night of our stay we had only on the second one in quantity that was almost enough for 4 people to take a short shower without using only cold water. When we asked the host why there wasn’t any hot water, he said that it is solar heated but in cloudier days there was an electric heater/boiler, which apparently didn’t work. We were told that a technician would come and fix the problem on the second day, and what actually changed was nothing, but we did find the entrance to the ground floor left unlocked. In the description of the villa it said that you got a dishwasher which wasn’t the case as you can see in the images. We also had to ask for blankets as it wasn’t very warm during the nights, yet there weren’t any available. Wi-fi reception was really rather poor with having stable internet only near the router, and even then it wasn't always stable or with acceptable speed. Also you get poor cell coverage where this place is located. If I need to sum up everything, I’d say that this is a scam and would highly recommend that you avoid this place at all cost! It appears that Booking.com endorses such scammers and properties since when we tried to dispute and get some sort of compensation, they said that no form of compensation is possible without giving any further explanation why and they didn’t reply to my request to elaborate. Also by the photo you can see how people are being left with the impression that you are booking the whole villa and not just a floor of the house. At the time of booking and during our stay, this place was listed as “Villa Angara”. It’s currently listed as “Beach front villa” but it’s the same place and has the same host.

We liked the closeness to the beach, the beach and the facilities we had beside the rental (sunbeds, paddleboat, umbrellas, kayak)

The bathroom in our room was quite small and not so much light in it. Also it needs a curtain not to splash everywhere.
