Nubian Holiday House Aswan

The house is so beautiful and well taken care of, with a lovely terrace and nice Nile views. Room was spacious and comfortable, staff was always smiling and the breakfast was good. Noble temples and the ferry to East Bank Aswan are 5 minutes away walking, so the location is great. A special thanks to Mr. Habib who is a kind man and knows how to do business.

Mr Habib and his family were the nicest people we met in Egypt. His sister is a wonderful cook and so modest about it and the kids are great. The place was very clean and they helped us with everything we needed without ever asking for anything. They even made us a breakfast box to take with us if we went out early. There are some friendly and well cared for pets in the place which speaks to the kind of people they are. Say hello to Jessie for us!

Bed Matrasses

Lovely location on the West Bank with the ferry to the other side located around the corner. Excellent food (breakfast and lunch), probably the best we have had in Egypt altogether. The room was very spacious with a comfortable mattress, good air conditioning (very needed when it’s 42 degrees outside) and great wifi.

We liked everything.

The family in charge of the house is very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean. There’s a nice rooftop (though dusty) overlooking the Nile where you can enjoy your meals. For approx 25 USD/night, it was all right. You get what you pay for :)

I think the main issue we had was with the owner. The morning of our departure, he called us on one of the employees’ phone and asked us to pay (in cash) a higher amount than what we had booked for. We lost a good 30 minutes arguing over the phone. Otherwise it’s small issues; for the price of the room (about 25 USD/night), it was good in general. - Our shower drain was completely blocked, so on the first morning, the bathroom floor was covered with the another room’s dirty shower water… Then when we showered, we just added to the problem, and the water went all the way into our bedroom. We explained the problem and they moved us to another room, so that was well taken care of. - The beds were not very comfortable; you can feel each spring of the mattress. - Breakfast was not amazing, but it wasn’t horrible either. We had one dinner there, and it was not very diverse and generous (3 pieces of chicken for 4 people, rice and fries). But for the price, I guess it was ok.
