Gorgeous decor comfortable bed. Restaurant food is amazing. All round a great stay. Will definitely book again.

Location is unsuitable for children, especially at the weekends. The property is adjacent to very busy bars that open til 4am, with crowds of drunk people.

Clean. Decent size bed and comfortable in room number 5. Nice free amenities on welcome.

The notice in the room states no parties or loud music, but the hotel is situated on a very loud and busy street. It sounded like a nightclub was thumping music till 3am. It was unbearable and so loud. Lots of drunks shouting and screaming. Would avoid it if you want to get any form of rest or sleep. Tv did have Netflix, but the remote was cheap and hardly worked. Navigating the tv was a real struggle even after the host told us where to find a replacement remote. The Internet connection was intermittent and kept cutting out, which was very frustrating as that was the TV was the only thing we had to mask the sound. 3 different door codes to get into the room, which is convoluted and annoying. Tv had a broken plug socket behind it with tape over it, which didn't seem safe. There isn't anywhere to sit and do your hair, which frustrated my partner as it didn't seem suitable for getting ready. Access to the property is only available by stairs, so it is unsuitable for anyone who has issues with walking or climbing stairs. Overall, it was a really poor experience, and I wouldn't return.

Nice room with everything we needed for a couple of nights. Good location close to the station and the town centre.

Too many codes to get in! Quite chilly, so we needed the heating on most of the time. Pigeons cooing outside the window!

Clean tidy comfy and very secure

Fantastic stay - the room was super clean and comfortable and in a great central location. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. Communication was also very straightforward. Would highly recommend and will be back next time we’re in Colchester.

Fire alarm kept going off and myself and my partner had to shut it down ourselves as it kept me up all night at a time when I was having chemotherapy.

The property was in a really good location with access to everything in the town centre and it was cosy.

The shower was either really cold or really hot with difficulty to adjust it so I had really hot and cold showers…
