I had an exceptional stay at The Dunallen Guest House. The owner was a charming, delightful Man called Paul who went out of his way to make me feel comfortable and to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Sadly I did not meet his wife, hopefully next time I shall. At around 11pm I disturbed Paul with a request for a lamp so that I could study into the night; despite my request at such a late hour he went and brought a lamp for me so that I could study! The room I stayed in was charming, comfortable, smelt divine and had all I needed. The bathroom had these delightful Korean cleansing cloths which were marvellous and I now need to buy! I cannot rate this guest house highly enough- my stay here exceeded all my expectations and I shall stay here again.

Very long walk from bus or train station with luggage. I got a very small room - but it was also very noisy as it faced a very busy street. When I mentioned it to the proprietor, and said I had a sleep problem, he showed no empathy - simply stating that this info was stated on the website. It was and I didn't see it - but he seemed to care only about covering himself, not his guests comfort. His wife was very helpful though - offering me a plaster for a blistered foot on request.

Host Paul was very helpful and approachable. My room was lovely, very clean and good tea/ coffee provisions. Bed very comfortable so I slept well. The instant porridge pot was appreciated as I had to be away early and no place open early for breakfast. Handy location for the area.
