Excellent location in Sørvágur, very convenient for exploring Vágar and using public transport (3 bus stops within walking distance, with timetables available next to the staircase). The ferry to Mykines is just steps away. The house has a lot of charm and a cozy atmosphere. You're basically staying in someone's home, as the owners live downstairs. The shared living room has some books available (mainly in Danish), while the dining room features a large map of the Faroes as well as island maps and guides. There are also some board games to choose from. The beds were comfortable and the shared kitchen is very well equipped for cooking simple meals. The view from the kitchen and dining room over the bay is beautiful, especially with the changing Faroese weather and spectacular tides. The binoculars available for guests were a lovely touch for watching the landscape and seabirds. I also appreciated the easy self check-in.

By no means a complaint, but bear in mind that this is an older wooden house, so the floors and bathroom doors can be quite noisy. The bathroom doors were sometimes difficult to close quietly, which may be noticeable if other guests are moving around late in the evening or early in the morning. However, this is also part of the character of staying in an old house rather than a modern hotel.

Nett eingerichtete Zimmer, die Küche ist ein Unikat aus den 50/60er Jahren. Alles da, was man braucht, toller Blick auf den Ort, den Hafen und die Bucht, die während Ebbe ohne Wasser ist.

Die Türe mit der Aufschrift ist offen - das muss man wissen. Ich hatte die andere Tür versucht, diese war verschlossen. So musste ich den Besitzer kontaktieren, um hineinzukommen.
