La posada herran a été une parenthèse enchantée. Tout y est parfait : le cadre bucolique, les chambres cosy et très confortables,le fleurissement, la patronne attentionné et le petit déjeuner très qualitatif rapport qualitatif. L' accès à santillana del mar très facile à pied.

Tout était parfait

Extraordinarily clean. Our kind and smiling host, Lidia, allowed us to check in earlier and said we could put our food in the fridge downstairs in the breakfast area. We could also help ourselves to cutlery and plates to eat our own food in the breakfast room. Hosts had their elderly parents living in the same house, so it had a family atmosphere, which we enjoyed. I wish that my Spanish was better, as I would have liked to know more about the family. The room was quiet and beautifully appointed. The mattress was good... Breakfast was good. Filter coffee, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, meat and bread. Fruits and eggs were also on the buffet. Good value for the price. Lidia gave us a lift to the train station on the morning we left. We would heartily recommend this establishment, but note that it is about 1km away from Santillana del Mar... Beautiful walks are possible in the area. We took a bus to Comillas to visit the Gaudi House, which was worth the effort. On another day, we walked past the Altimira cave site, but the museum was closed.

The only thing I think needs improving is the weird choice of pillows ( one hard one much longer than average ) and one much shorter than average which was too soft for my liking. The light blanket was also weird as it had pompoms on the ends and when I turned over in the night I had to contend with the pompoms underneath me🤣 There was another, much thicker blanket in the wardrobe, but that was too warm for June.

Beautiful accommodation in a rural setting, an easy 15 min walk into Santillana del Mar. Spotlessly clean rooms, with decor in traditional style and a lovely modern bathroom. Lovely breakfast and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend.
