GBLocation was good, nice enough part of the city. Small amount of parking at the front of the guest house but not mentioned in the listing so it would have been great to know before paying for parking elsewhere.
Arrived to a fairly offhand man who strode across the road to the annexe, without offering to help with my bags (I was obviously struggling). Just had that air of not giving a sh#t. Fair enough, it's a budget place. But on arrival at the room, I just didn't feel comfortable. The window was single glazed and noise from the street promised a very disturbed night. There were hairs on the bed which definitely were not mine. An unclean smell, like something hadnt been laundered in a long time - perhaps the throws. And on further investigation, marks on the sheets which tbh, looked like they might have been the type to wash out. In other words, they hadn't been washed since the marks were made. We were in Edinburgh for a gig which finished around 10. So we decided to just drive the 3hrs home, rather than complete or stay, given the dubious bedding situation. Not recommended at all.

USI loved having a private space for myself, and the room was comfortable and cozy. Good light insulation too, important during the summer to be able to sleep. Location was fairly convenient too.
Move the smoking location off the property. The first floor windows intake the smoke.
