Location and cost

Hot tap was VERY wobbly and erratic. Shower quite slow and not easy to get correct temperature. No breakfast available until 9am

"Excellent value for a contactless family room with character"

Spacious family room yet cosy & with character beams. Fridge with fresh milk kindly provided. Great location in centre of Bishop’s Castle with no traffic noise. Earplugs provided for the bell sounds but this didn’t bother us at all. Comfortable beds. Excellent evening dining at the Castle Hotel just round the corner along with the Three Tuns brewery pub. Poppy house had its own cafe but with breakfast only from 9am we returned to the Castle Hotel. Very good value for this quality stay.

Toilet seat wouldn’t stay up and hot water tap was loose & had the opposite twisting direction! (Not a big deal really though!)

It was great ! The owner sends you the details to check in yourself the day before your arrival so it's great. The room was big and well decorated. There is a fridge so it's great compared to other inns and hotels. Beds were comfy. It was clean and smelled nice.

Parking in the street was not available so we had to go to the car park which is downhill. Therefore it was exhausted to go uphill back to the inn with all our bags.

"A delightful B&B"

We have stayed at Poppy House before and choose it because of its lovely ambience, cleanliness and location. This time, we didn't have time for the breakfast but it has been very good previously. We didn't meet any staff this time so cannot comment on that section but they have been welcoming on our previous visits.

Can't find fault.
