Nothing everything was perfect
GBThe accommodation was brilliant! Well laid out and had everything I needed! The added touches for Xmas were cute and the food which was included was lovely.
The taxi companies added an extra £5 to the fare (if you could get one) as they were so far away from the accommodation. I didn't manage to get a taxi to the wedding I was attending and had to drive. This has obviously nothing to do with the Hideaway though.

GBThe Hideaway is a lovely spot for a short break. With a very comfy bed, and clean, well presented room. The extras included are a nice touch, the fruits and breakfast foods supplied are great, and sufficient for the few days we stayed there. There was even a couple of beers, fruit juice and bottled water as well. The bathroom is really nice, with some soaps and loo rolls included. The outside seating area is compact, but very pleasant to sit out in. Mark and Angela gave plenty of information for the stay, very nice to deal with, but also left us to our own devices during our stay. Overall it's an excellent spot for a few days stay if you only need basic comforts, and it's well located to access various tourist spots. We visited Aysgarth, Fountains Abbey and the local Bird of Prey Centre (5 mins down the road), and even visited the Herriot museum in Thirsk on our way home. The pub opposite, the Otterington Shorthorn, is excellent, and does some good food, along with a decent selection of drinking possibilities.
Nothing to dislike about it at all, it was excellent value for the facilities provided. However, just a one note. If you want to eat local, just beware that the pub opposite only does food from Wednesday to Sunday (takeaways Thursday to Saturday). Otherwise you do need to make plans (travel elsewhere, takeaway, or bring something to microwave).
GBThe room was lovely. Really nice, modern and clean. It was really warm so had to use the fan, would be lovely and cosy in the winter. There is also a wee outside space to sit. Unfortunately the weather was wet so didn't get use of this, alothough it is sheltered. Again it looked like a nice wee bit to sit out and enjoy. On the first night we went to the wee pub across the road for some dinner. The food was lovely. I would definitely recommend 'The Hideaway' and will keep it in mind for future visits. 😊🥰
The only thing I can fault is the TV. My husband and I took our firestick with us but was unable to connect it as the tele didn't have a HDMI port 🙈
GBThe hideaway had little touches which were lovely. Everything was amazing and I would highly recommend staying. I would come back 100%. Myself and my partner loved.our 3 night stay.
