Everglades Hotel

Overall accommodation was very poor. But we did like Torquay.

We were supposed to stay 2 nights but could only stay one as the walls in the bedroom were wet with damp. No hot water at night. Toilet seat was broke very dull lighting in the bathroom. At the bottom of the stairs a motorbike was parked which is also a health and safety issue. When we told him what was wrong with our room all he said was sorry about that and shut the door in our face.

Bed was so comfortable. Show was amazing with plenty of hot water. Sea view which was lovely waking up to every morning.

Parking was a little bit tight.

The property was out dated & in need of modernisation.The people who run it were polite pleasant & very welcoming.It was a good price for the place & you get what you pay for.

The shower was extremley small & not the best.

The hotel affordable and left us with a great budget for spending money. Location is convenient and right near the shops and about a 10 minute walk to the harbour. The shower was great and was powerful. The beds were really comfortable. The staff are so friendly and helpful, we arrived around 11am to get our bearings and to ask if we could park the car before checking in at 3 which we were told would be fine, the lady that helped us checked our rooms and as they had been cleaned we were able to check in right away and get settled, lovely host!

Some of the milks provided with the tea and coffee were out of date but this wasn’t an issue as we only had a couple of hot drinks during our stay

The location is excellent. The guest house is perfect to use as a base and somewhere to sleep which is what we needed.

Communal areas look dated, shower wasn’t the best and the bathroom light cord was temperamental.

Bed was comfy, room in general wasn't too bad, nice place to stay for a short trip. Seafront in this area was disappointing.

Room and hotel in general had outdated decor, shower cubicle too small but functional, a little pricey for this standard of hotel, no breakfast or drinks facilities other similar hostels have these. There was a local outbreak of the parasite in Devon due to South West water and the hotel rep did not mention this at all at reception, this should have been addressed clearly.
