Compact and comfy. Was ideal for me. Good situation for beach and cliff walks. Tea and coffee provided and thank you for the jug of milk.

The 209 steps to beach if you didn't have a car, and 209 steps back up!

"Thank you for giving us a very reasonable price break away to explore St Margrets bay"

9.0

The hosts, Roy and Amanda, a lovely genuine family. Very helpful and accommodating, Had everything we needed for a 2 night stay! Oooo and a CD of Roy’s songs! (Signed)😀

Property was very much as advertised, served our purposes well. A lovely quaint village, for me personally wasn’t quite prepared for the lack of pathways in the village, but to be fair ‘it is what it is’ It is a charming place and the positives far outweigh the negatives!

"Excellent decision!"

10.0

Beautiful Country side and tucked in between Dover and Deal. Excellent bus service easily manageable. Simply amazing foot paths along the White Cliffs nearby. Room itself was just what we needed, two beds, kitchen, laundry and wonderful shower. Hosts were ever so pleasant and helped us with ideas of the area and kind enough to drive us to the Dover Cruise Port upon leaving. We would have absolutely no hesitation returning for a future visit.

WiFi / service was a bit spotty at times to no fault of the accommodations. Was like this in the village itself.

"Interesting annex attached to a family home"

7.0

Amanda very kindly offered to pick me up at Dover Priory, as there is only a bus service from East Marling about four times a day. You need to order a taxi from Dover Priory for £15-18 (cash) drivers say it takes them a week to get paid by card. I came to attend a workshop at the Pine calyx centre. St Margaret’s at Cliffe is very much a village community with one excellent pub - The Smuggler- there is nothing to do on the high street at night. You need a car to stay at this location. Other cafes in the area are not open on a Monday. There were electricity outages while I stayed and I could not use the microwave. I was asked if I had a lot of items plugged in (no) that caused a short circuit - I did not. I thought the accommodation would be self contained but it is an annex attached to a family home, I was told. I was woken up by the washing machine and dryer being used in the morning when I was sleeping. The kitchen is very small and not much space to prepare food; there is a microwave and a small fridge. The annex is not really private, as there is access to the main family home. Bed has a very nice electric under blanket that I appreciated, as it could get cold. Lovely local photos and prints throughout the flat. There is a recording studio in the middle of the flat. It is a nice location but you need a car to stay here as public transport here is not very good. You are about a 10 minute walk from the cove and a shingle beach. The terrain here is very steep and you have to climb up 146 steps to reach Dover Patrol memorial garden.

"An excellent venue to allow revisiting my childhood"

Comfortable accommodation - absolutely perfect for my needs as a solo traveller. Hosts who were helpful, friendly and unobtrusive. I felt I could use the space as I wanted and it provided an ideal home from home in this (to me) very special village.
