Denehurst Guest House - Adults Only

Ken and Cindy are exceptional hosts, nothing was too much bother, from special requests for breakfast to being extremely knowledgeable about the local area. Although the guest house is situated slap bang between Windermere and Bowness, this means it is quite a distance from the local eateries, which for us wasn't a problem, but for anyone with walking problems, it could be an issue, but again there are regular busses up and down the main road, which is a five minute walk away. Rooms are very clean and tidy, with lots of space to hang your clothes up.

Hosts were lovely, both were full of craic and very attentive. The place was decorated beautifully yet felt very homely. The rooms and communal areas were beautifully clean and fresh. The breakfast was absolutely knock out with everything you would need and more!!

It was our first time in the Lake District, and we were a bit unsure of what to expect, but our hosts made everything feel easy and welcoming right away. They didn’t just hand over the keys, they shared pieces of the place with us, like little tips, places we can explore, restaurants recommendations, maps, and ideas that helped us see the area beyond just a visit. Mornings were calm and peaceful, and we especially enjoyed our breakfast, thoughtfully arranged for us as vegetarians One of our favourite moments was simply walking to Windermere and Bowness, leaving the car behind and enjoying the beauty around us at our own pace. The location of this place made that possible so effortlessly. Simple, comfortable, and genuinely memorable. Would happily return

Stayed at Denehurst Guest House and had a fantastic experience. The location is excellent—perfectly situated for exploring the area and close to plenty of amenities. The breakfast was outstanding, with great quality and plenty of choice to start the day right. A real highlight of the stay. Ken, the owner, was very welcoming and incredibly helpful. His local knowledge and tips made a big difference and helped us discover some great spots we might have otherwise missed. There are also lots of choices for eating out nearby, so you’re never short of options in the evenings. Overall, a wonderful stay—highly recommended!
