Villa Sanyan - Adults Only

The location is excellent, and we appreciated having clean towels provided every morning. The building itself looks nice from the outside.

There was a strong musty smell upon entering the building, which continued into our room. There was no proper ventilation, so after showering, the room stayed damp, and neither towels nor swimwear dried properly. The windows offered no soundproofing — we could hear street traffic, late-night partygoers, and even conversations from other rooms. Cleanliness wasn’t up to standard: bathroom walls were dirty, dust had collected in corners, and the liquid soap dispenser wasn’t refilled during our stay. Additionally, the cleaner knocked on our door at 9:20 AM, which felt too early. We only had breakfast at the hotel once, as we had to wait a full hour to be served. We booked this hotel based on many positive reviews, but unfortunately, our overall impression was negative, and we wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Rooms are tiny, no more than 100 SQFt. 2 people can barely be standing at the same time, small queen bed. No place undies to get breakfast: it was raining heavy and we were offered to have breakfast in the room, there isn’t even a table in the room, bite chairs: only on the balcony under the rain ?? The building is a rundown property, very bad shape. We got breakfast on the patio littered with cigarette butts. Choice and quality of breakfast was below any description. The staff was very nice, not in question at all: the management is lousy, obviously doesn’t care about the visitors.

A beautiful Greek villa which has been sympathetically renovated to retain some of its character, charm and traditional features. Beautiful entrance hall and high ceilings allow for the rooms to feel spacious and well equipped. The check in process was clear and emailed on advance, which allowed us to gain entry late into the day we arrived. This meant we did not have to disturb any staff or residence. The room itself was bright and airy, which beautiful shutters and perfectly clean and tidy. We were grateful to find bottled water and a fresh coffee machine, which allowed us to make a warm drink when we arrived and settled in. Despite the bathroom being small, it too was spotless and had modern features. Again, plentiful towels and toiletries were provided. The shower screen only half covered the shower area, which did result in water spreading further, but the bathroom had a drain on the floor also which allowed for a quick and safe clean up. We were able to park our hire car on neighbouring streets or outside the hotel itself. Due to the villa’s proximity, parking can be difficult to find but we always managed to find a space, despite being so close to the town centre. The hotel itself is a short walk away from a beach, shops and other amenities. The Old Town is a 10 minute stroll away and on a sunny day this is a pleasant stroll. Breakfast is served outside in a small courtyard, as long as it is warm outside, this is a pleasant experience. A menu of around 4 options is made available; however, this can be difficult to navigate for those with dietary requirements.

Breakfast arrives plated and therefore I felt that parts would be wasted if not wanted. The host did adapt when requested, however initially this did mean that there was some food wasted as we were unsure what would arrive on the plate. It was quite cold on the last day of our stay and sitting outside was not very pleasant. I am unsure what provision there is should the weather hamper the outside breakfast experience.
