House Elka

Ich schreibe normalerweise nie Rezensionen, aber in diesem Fall möchte ich unbedingt meine Erfahrung teilen. Wir haben im House Elka in Baška Voda übernachtet und waren rundum zufrieden. Das Apartment war sehr sauber, gepflegt und gut ausgestattet – alles, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt braucht, war vorhanden. Die Gastgeber waren außergewöhnlich freundlich und herzlich, immer ansprechbar und sehr bemüht, unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Schon bei der Ankunft haben wir uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Ehrlich gesagt war ich zu Beginn wegen einiger negativer Bewertungen etwas skeptisch. Doch unsere Erfahrung hat das komplette Gegenteil gezeigt: Wir können nichts Negatives berichten – im Gegenteil, wir waren positiv überrascht und haben uns jederzeit wohlgefühlt. Ein besonderer Pluspunkt: Haustiere sind willkommen – das fanden wir einfach super, da wir mit unserem Vierbeiner reisen konnten. Die Lage ist ebenfalls ideal: ruhig und trotzdem nah am Strand, Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Parkplätze standen uns zur Verfügung, was den Aufenthalt noch komfortabler gemacht hat. Insgesamt können wir das House Elka uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, Sauberkeit, Gastfreundschaft und die Tierfreundlichkeit waren wirklich top. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Location is good. Communication with hosts is also acceptable.

The entire house and apartments are not in good condition. Everything seems outdated, not very clean and in some rooms there is an unpleasant smell from the toilet. As soon as we arrived at the apartment we realized that we had to find new accommodation. The hosts were accommodating in this regard and asked on booking to change the reservation, instead of paying a 50% cancellation fee. Booking also has a responsibility, because the last comment for this property was published on 18.08., and the same was not published on 23.08. when I made the reservation.

Príjemná lokalita, blízko k moru, malička útulná izba s balkónom. Funkčná klíma, nemám čo vytknúť.

I recommend staying at House Elka… if you want to travel back in time to the 1970s. The ground-floor apartments are furnished with very old equipment and carry a distinctive musty smell. In our room, the bed was so saggy that we let the children sleep on it while my wife and I used the extra bed, just to avoid collapsing to the floor during the night. The water in the bathtub hardly drained at all, and the exposed wires near the bathroom light did not exactly inspire a feeling of safety. The worst, however, were our unexpected flatmates, which we discovered on the second day of our stay… COCKROACHES. Countless young ones and nearly a dozen adult individuals forced us to cut our stay short, as we were traveling with small children and the presence of cockroaches clearly indicates unacceptable hygienic conditions. What shocked us even more was the arrogance and unwillingness of the owner, Mrs. Elka Jozipović, to deal with the situation. Although she had vacant rooms, she refused to let us move elsewhere within the property. Regarding the refund, things were just as frustrating. Out of our planned 7 nights, we only stayed 2, but the owners were not willing to resolve the issue fairly. They claimed they had arranged with Booking that we would receive €400 in cash, and any further refund should be handled through Booking. But Booking could not help, since the payment goes directly to the property, not through their system. Our total stay cost €1,610, and the only amount refunded to us was €400. Finding new accommodation cost us another €800, which made our holiday unnecessarily expensive! If you want to ruin your vacation, then by all means book this place! The owner, Mr. Mate Jozipović, at least tried to be polite, but Mrs. Jozipović refused to communicate with us at all. Photos attached… definitely do not go there!!!
