Užsakėme vilą 6 asmenims 2025 lapkričio mėnesį. Su pilnu apmokėjimu savaitei 2026 vasario mėnesiui. Pakeliui į vilą ir likus iki įsiregistravimo gavome žinutę iš vilos savininkės, kad dėl techninių kliūčių apgyvendinti mūsų negali.

Pekné prostredie. Super plávajúce raňajky za doplatok. Snaha riešiť situáciu ak sme niečo potrebovali. Majiteľka nám poslala jedlo - obed, lebo boli slabšie raňajky.

Slabšie raňajky. K raňajkám chýbal chlieb. Odporúčam nafotiť raňajkové menu, aby zákazník vedel čo objednáva. Z raňajok sme boli sklamaní.

I loved everything about it. The view was perfect, the personal was very friendly and also the bathroom is really special. I will come back here soon.

If you expect peace, rest, and basic respect for guests in Ubud, this property should be avoided. Our stay at Masakali Retreat was one of the most stressful hotel experiences we have had, entirely due to extremely poor management and unacceptable behavior from the property owner. We were not informed in advance that a local fishing festival would take place during our stay. This event started very early in the morning (around 5–6 AM) and involved loud music, shouting, and microphone announcements. This omission is critical because the villas are built with large open ventilation gaps between the walls and roof. There is no sound insulation at all — every noise from outside is heard clearly inside the villa. At approximately 5 AM on Sunday, I was abruptly woken by loud shouting and noise directly next to the villa, which initially sounded like a serious conflict or fight. It later became clear this was part of local fishing activity. Due to the terraced layout of the property, it is physically impossible to approach or communicate with people outside. Attempting to ask for quiet from a distance was pointless, as no one could hear me. I then went to the reception area to seek assistance, only to find that the night security was asleep and unreachable. With no on-site support available, I contacted hotel management via WhatsApp to report the situation and ask for help. No effective response followed, and the situation remained unresolved. On my way back to the villa, I encountered the property owner. Instead of addressing the problem or attempting to de-escalate the situation, she reacted in an extremely aggressive and confrontational manner, ordering me to leave the property immediately and accusing me of causing trouble. The interaction was hostile, inappropriate, and completely unprofessional for someone responsible for guest experience. No solution was offered, and the noise continued from 6 AM onward.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The place is beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by nature, the rooms are very comfortable and clean, and the atmosphere is perfect to relax and disconnect. The staff is incredibly kind, attentive and always willing to help with anything. The breakfast and food were delicious, and all the small details made the stay truly special.

Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like. Everything exceeded my expectations.

L’emplacement avec la vue. L’endroit était calme et paisible, nous étions comme seul au monde. L’architecture ouverte de la villa est très agréable. Les équipements sont nombreux et plutôt haut de gamme. Le personnel est très gentil, attentif et attentionné, et très disponible.

Les chambres ne communiquent pas entre elles ou avec la pièce de vie, le parquet abîmé et fatigué nécessite des réparations.

The view from the porch is very nice! Surya Villa is spacious and has nice places to hang out during the day. The design is matching the location. The brekfast was very good (the best in Bali).

The location is very remote, but it is worth it if you plan your trip accordingly and only stay there for 2 nights and spend the rest time closer to Ubud for activities and attractions. The prices mentioned by the staff on whatsapp are subject to tax and the staff forgot to mention that (18%). If mentionrd beforehand there would have been no problem, but I payed for a scooter rental the most expensive price on my Bali trip (over 200.000 rph/day compared to 150.000 rph/day that I payed in Ubud and Smeinyak for the same model) and was provided with a scooter that was in the worst shape (engine was not working properly) compared to the other 3 rentals in Bali of the exact same scooter. Unfortunately, the location is so remote you do not have other options but to rent the scooter with them. Also, be careful with the access to the property by scooter. You have to be a good driver of two wheels vehicles to get there! I have an A driving licence for 8 years and am constantly driving a bike home and I found it challenging. The bathroom is not in the best shape (a glass in broken and can use replacement, the soap dispenser is rusty an should be replaced, there is a bit of mold). It could use some improvement and proper cleaning. The room has no way to completly close the doors as there is an area above them where small living things and isects can enter. The price is too high for what the property provides in my opinion. There are better options available in the area of Tegalalang.
