Toko Toko Bungalows

What an incredible place to stay. Quiet, peaceful, and traditional. Toko and family were all amazing and accommodating and I can’t wait to go back!

Friendly staff. Good price. The photos on Booking.com do not do the place justice. Room was basic but had large fridge, outdoor daybed, and was very modern.

Breakfast was basic.

Perfect location away from the centre of Ubud. Everything you need is close by. Great massage next door at VELORA Staff were so friendly and helpful. Beautiful pool. Lovely walk out the back along the rice fields to Bintang supermarket to escape the main road

I hired a motor bike and was able to park on premises. Behind the property were very picturesque rice fields which I was able to walk through. The accommodation was not in the centre of town but the attractions was close.by. Bintang Supermarket is 150 meters away, although smaller supermarkets are nearby. Endless eating options both nearby and in the centre of Ubud. The unit had access to many streaming services which was a bonus.

That the water in Bali is undrinkable, but thats got nothing to do with Toko Toko Bungalows.

I've stayed at Toko Toko a few times and will return when back in Ubud. The breakfasts in the new restaurant are lovely, staff are friendly, helpful and speak/understand english well. Bedroom and bathroom are both spacious. Bonus that there's a full size fridge and a great storage for clothing. Will definitely return :-)

Stunning family compound guesthouse with unbeatable views over quiet rice fields, pool and jaw dropping sunsets. The breakfast was good and the staff are wonderful, they make you feel at home. The pool was lovely and deep and a good size for laps. Many good options nearby and a short walk to Putri Spa which has amazing treatments.

Only issue was construction noise as they’re building new rooms but it was far enough away from me to not be intrusive.

Friendly reception. Located back from busy road but Toko Toko is currently undergoing construction with more rooms being built looking likely to take a couple of years. My room had both airconditioning and a ceiling fan which helped with the heat and avoiding getting sick from sleeping under the airconditioning unit. Rice fields directly out back. Manager Toko offered me a late checkout as I was not leaving till 1pm which was very much appreciated. Thanks Toko !

Toko Toko is currently undergoing construction with more rooms being built. It is also located up a steep hill with a broken sidewalk/pavement with building materials (rocks/sand) frequently blocking walking access requiring you to step out, or cross, a very busy road. It would be easy to sprain an ankle or injure a toe. At night time I used both a head torch and my phone flashlight which helped. There are lots of steps which you need to navigate within Toko Toko itself. My room was on the third floor with stairs only access. If steps are not your thing or you are carrying a lot of luggage then this is not the place for you. The pool loungers and umbrellas are near end of life and in need of replacement. The bathroom door in my room needs replacing as it could not be closed with a large gap. No problem for me though as I was travelling solo. Unlike other places I stayed where there was an ever present full host Toko Toko supplied light but friendly hospitality.

Spacious room overlooking the pool. Helpfull and friendly staff! Set in a traditional Balinese temple design. Good location and a short but busy walk to attractions.
