Batur Green Hill and Hot Spring

If your main goal is to visit the volcano, the location is very convenient. The natural hot spring is a real highlight and worth experiencing. The standout, however, is the staff. One staff member in particular was incredibly polite, helpful, and genuinely tried his best to accommodate us at every step. Food was okay. They even arranged a free drop-off to the main road, which was appreciated because the access road is very difficult to walk or drive.

The room had a strong mold smell upon arrival. There were visible mold patches on the couches, curtains, and even picture frames. The bathroom had no ventilation and an unpleasant odor. We had to leave the door open to get some airflow and sunlight, and it improved slightly after many hours. Electricity and water were inconsistent and kept cutting out. At one point, the staff member was literally sitting by the water pump to make sure it kept running while I was showering. The overall property feels very worn down and poorly maintained. We ended up checking out a day early. It’s disappointing because this place has the potential to be a standout destination given its location and natural hot spring. But the condition of the rooms, outdated facilities, and ongoing maintenance issues hold it back. Many showers and refrigerators do not function properly, and there is no backup generator.

This is the big thing for me that let this hotel down was too many fly 🪰 everywhere you couldn’t even leave your doors open because your room would be infested with flys not just that you couldn’t even sit on the sun lounges because you would be infested flys
