Castletownmoor Clinic & Permaculture Farm

Brigid and Dessie and their daughters were an absolute delight! So helpful and kind. Sweethearts! The farm is beautifully located and I wish I hadn’t missed the herbal medicine workshop day! I’m sure it would’ve been great as Brigid is very knowledgeable. We were in the en suite property recently renovated. I understand a family member is going to be living in this property. Self catering was and everything you need in clean and modern kitchen. There is also another property which may be less modernised. Brigid and Dessie said we were welcome to organic produce from their polytunnels. The farm is very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend! Kate.

Very basic

Shower took ages for hot water to come through. Admittedly the owner did say this would happen Other residents brought food back and ate in the dining room next to my bedroom, talking loudly for an hour I had to tell them to be quiet as it was 11.30 n I was trying to get to sleep Breakfast not provided, the guest had to make his own from provisions supplied

Peaceful and quiet farm and location. Kind hosts. The shared kitchen is very appreciated and well stocked with all essentials including free breakfast items (which I didn't use but is a generous touch). Loved being able to enjoy the garden and picnic table in gorgeous weather. Fully renovated building so very clean.

The single bed mattress is not super comfortable (I could feel the springs / wiring structure under my body and I'm not heavy). An inexpensive mattress topper could fix this. An extra pillow for comfortable reading would be appreciated, as well as a few more hangers. An extra frying pan would be great as there was only one to share for 4 bedrooms. Very poor sound proofing unfortunately so the experience can vary tremendously depending on the other guests. Last, it was a bit sad for a permaculture farm to only provide conventional cleaning products and toiletries. I understand that providing eco-products would require to slightly increase the price of the accommodation, which would be okay as would remain affordable and great value for money.

I had a lovely stay. very welcoming host. lovely kitchen area with supplies laid on for breakfast. Very close to kells where I was traveling to for an event. Lovely peaceful and quiet location in the countryside. excellent value for money.

Basically it was self- catering. The facilities are brand new, only open 3 weeks ago, very high standard of build, and very clean.

The Location is not sign posted so could be hard to find without Google Maps.
