Serenity Eco Guesthouse - CHSE certified

Staff were really friendly and helpful, my partner's luggage was left by the airline in our previous destination, the staff were lovely and helped us contact the airline to arrange delivery. Overall the vibe was really cool and relaxed, breakfast was nice, we especially loved the coconut/dragon fruit pancakes.

The ecology is at the center. If you are sensitive to it, you will enjoy it and love this place. The guesthouse looks wonderful and is very peaceful. People are really kind. Staff from the reception and from kitchen are really polite, Lovely and smiling. I loved so much speaking with staff and customers there. Amazing yoga teachers with an amazing level in term of teaching and practicing. It is an amazing place for yoga and to eat very healthy. The food is very qualitative and has a good Price-quality ratio.

I was sleeping in the Yin room 6 days in a row and I Mostly slept very bad. Honestly, the bed is really TOO hard for western / european customers. The light comes through at every moment and it is very loud (you hear people talking at night, the staff passing the broom at 6am in the morning, the car and motorbikes driving at every moment). So if you want to sleep ok you need a sleeping mask and Heard mugs and I do not feel at ease sleeping with te. And for the quality Price ratio, I was disappointed. It was way TOO expensive for the quality of the room. No light, no noise and a comfy bed would have made the experience totally different.

The best food, yoga, and people in Canggu! This is my 4th stay here and I’m always happy with the quality of my stay.

Mir hat es super gut gefallen dort. Es ist wie eine friedliche Oase. Alles ist so liebevoll und bewusst gemacht und das Personal ist Mega freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es ist sehr ruhig und die Energie war entspannt, harmonisch. Die Yoga Stunden sind sehr gut, super gute Lehrer. Danke, ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder :D

What a hidden gem! This place became a home to us. The kind, friendly and always helpful staff are the heart of this place. The inside garden and the pool truly made it feel like an oasis in a busy Canggu. We enjoyed many yoga classes on the premises and loved them all! And of course had truly the best massages with Serenity's Yogi Spa therapists. Can't wait to be back! PS, the Alkaline restaurant of the guesthouse has the best vegan chocolate cake.

- 200m from beach - Great for exploring Canggu - Great for minimising the environmental impact of your stay, for those who are eco-conscious - Great for yoga classes, however only for more experienced yogis and/or those willing to sweat hard - classes range from 75 - 90 minutes in length and the yoga studios are not air-conditioned

- Other than the young woman who checked me in, I felt that the staff were unfriendly, unapproachable and judgemental - making me uncomfortable and unwilling to utilise the services available. - It felt like you were constantly being policed without being offered any support or assistance - The room was very over priced for what it was - old, dirty and without air-conditioning or a private bathroom. - There was a fan but due to its age it did little to reduce the heat. Consequently the room was oppressively hot and awful after a long day out. - They have very strict waste management systems in place which in principle is great, however poorly executed. - The private rooms had separate bins for paper and plastic but no bins for everything else. - If you hunted around the property you could find bins for organic waste and a bin 'residue' ("everything else")... however they were difficult to find - not ideal when you're trying to relax and instead you're stressing out trying to work out how to dispose of your rubbish without upsetting the staff. - All bin types are required in each room for the waste management system to be functional. - Had the staff been friendlier, I would have asked for more assistance. - A tour of the property upon check-in and instructions for navigating the waste management system would have helped immensely with mitigating the issues outlined above and appreciating/understanding the ethos that Serenity Eco Lodge is based upon. In summary, the concept of Serenity Eco Lodge has potential but the facilities and management require a drastic overhaul - especially for the price.
