Surf Camp 79

Nice rooms and everything was clean, good breakfast but it costs extra.

I have to say the surf lessons with this hostel/surf camp were really disappointing. They did not take the time to ask or understand my level of surfing and I was taken to waves that were really tough and uncomfortable for me because that is where the rest of the group was schedule to go. They do lessons at the most crowded time of the day and on shore / in the water I was not given much help or instruction despite asking for it and telling them I felt overwhelmed based on my current abilities. They just sent you for another push, that’s all. There’s also not much atmosphere when I stayed here and hard to meet people. There are definitely more social and nicer hostels in Kuta. But for just a room to stay in, the beds and bathroom were good.

Great views, quiet after 10 PM. Friendly staff. The owner is an Indonesian who used to live in Bristol, England. Excellent customer service.

Really nice property, great location a little out of the busy/touristy part of town. Amazing, comfortable rooftop area to eat breakfast or just enjoy the beautiful views of Lombok. The best thing was the staff tho. So helpful with everything, and just really fun and easygoing to be around. Only thing we would have like different, was the shower in the room. The ventilation wasn’t the best, so quickly smelled mildewy and no hot water. Everything else made up for it tho and would gladly stay again.

Exceptional staff

I stayed here for a month in a private room and felt at home almost immediately. The location is perfect — just off the main street, so you’re close to everything without the noise and chaos. The room was spacious, clean, exactly as described, with a comfortable bed, strong AC, a nice bathroom, and great light insulation which made it easy to rest. The common area is super pleasant — perfect for eating, socializing, doing yoga or a workout. The staff is absolutely lovely and always helpful. This place strikes the perfect balance between a social hotel vibe and peace and privacy. Highly recommend!
