High quality stay

Location great, the host was responsive, room has basic and simple facilities, clean, and the energy of the place is decent. Hot water worked, towels, linen etc clean, and bed was quite comfortable (maybe I'm used to hard beds), so I can't complain.

The rooms are not sound proof so if someone walks by and talks, plays loud music in the pool, etc. you can most definitely hear them, and this is not ideal. Doesn't happen all the time, but happened a few times. I wouldn't plan on doing any calls there because of this, as well as the slower wifi connection (especially with many guests online at the same time). Unlike other guest houses, there's no staff on standby 24/7 (i.e. staff living/working on site the whole day and evening) The host was very responsive though can be a bit stressful in some of the interactions with her

No breakfast option

Eva is very kind and responsive. The day we were leaving she even gave us some traditional Balinese food to try! The location was also really good with plenty of cafes and restaurants and even a gym close by. The beach was also accessible just down the road where you could sit by the ocean on daybeds and have some drinks. The beach was definitely only a surf beach as the waves were massive.

The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable to be honest. The bathroom also smelt funny and the smell never really went away. The sink and toilet also gurgled and spluttered randomly which woke us up a few times. However, these were the only negatives I found and are probably not a fault of the guest house but a fault of Canggu's sewage system.
