Ram Guest House

The overall stay was very good. Very close to many places like Rock Beach, Aurobindo Ashram, Sacred Heart Cathedral etc..Nice and spacious rooms with hot water all the time available..

There is no car parking within the property. Car has to be parked on the road side which is very narrow.

Very close to the train station and to market areas. The older manager was very courteous and helped us find rental bikes.

Zero amenities (Not even water- You buy your own). We got off to a rather disappointing start, having traveled a day and got a poor room with disappointing service. The room was changed later, but we had to contend with separate beds since we were extremely exhausted from our travel. Our room did not even have working Wifi. Cockroaches in the bathroom and on the table. Bedsheets in the reassigned room were heavily stained (with Lord knows what, there was even a footprint!!!) and we had quite an argument to get them changed. Initial impressions were quite disappointing and we were even considering moving to a different hotel (but I had already paid during checkin for the whole three nights).

Guest house & the staff response.

There were many mosquitos in the room which might lead to diseases. We couldn't sleep peacefully due to this issue.

Good ambience

If you are someone who wants to feel at home while travelling around Pondicherry, then Ram Guest House is an excellent choice at an affordable price. Absolutely a value for money property which is neat and well-maintained. Ram was also quite welcoming and helpful to all the queries, and suggested some good places to visit and cafes have food from. I would not suggest this place if you are looking for extra ordinarily lighted fancy rooms modern amenities. if you wanna spend Pondicherry nights on a peaceful note, feeling home then Ram guest house is your go to property.

Location, room size

Cleanliness, did not provide drinking water, staff especially the reception guy don’t have any etiquette. Very rude behaviour. I asked for the invoice, initially he refused then after multiple follow-ups he gave it after 40 days.

The location and small price.

Wasn’t expecting much anyways… a window to the outside would have been nice.
