Beautiful location in Kri Island, a very special place! The bungalows on the beach have a bathroom, and the ones above the water have a shared bathroom. We liked the food and enjoyed sharing the meals with other travellers.

Die Unterkunft hat mehrere Boote, die auch überdacht sind und den Transport angenehm machen. Ein Mitarbeiter konnte im Verhältnis für die Region "gutes" Englisch. Auch die anderen Mitarbeiter waren nett. Mehrere ausflugsmöglichkeiten. Wir können vor allem die Zimmer mit eigenem Bad empfehlen.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr Basic. Es gibt zwei Gemeinschaftstoiletten, wovon eine westlich ist und eine einem Plumpsklo ähnelt. Eine Toilette bzw auch dusche riecht sehr nach Urin, sodass wir diese nicht wirklich nutzen wollten. Nachts hatten wir eine Ratte im Zimmer. Das Essen hat uns leider auch nicht geschmeckt und war Recht eintönig, wenn man mehrere Tage geblieben ist. Der Eigentümer konnte kein Englisch und hat deutlich höhere Preise für Transporte und Ausflüge genommen als andere homestays. Handeln ging mit ihm nicht. Bei einem Ausflug hatten wir abgeklärt, dass wir zwei Freunde von einem anderen Homestay mitnehmen wollen, die auch auf kri übernachtet haben. Es würde uns gesagt dass dies kein Problem sei. Als wir dann losgefahren sind, hat der Mitarbeiter und gesagt, dass der Eigentümer meinte, dass wir unsere Freunde nicht abholen werden. Es wurde sich also auch nicht an Absprachen gehalten. Als wir dann in der nächsten Unterkunft waren, wollten wollten wir lieber mit einem großen Boot abgeholt werden und haben daher bei gibran den Transport angefragt, der dann auf einmal doppelt so teuer angeboten wurde. Da Gäste aus dem Homestay am gleichen Tag wie wir in piaynemo waren, haben wir abgeklärt, dass wir auf dem Rückweg in der nächsten unterkunft eingesammelt werden, sodass wir wieder zurück zu gibran können, um in den nächsten Tagen mit anderen Gästen zusammen nach waisai zu fahren. Für das einsammeln wollte man dann 80Euro haben, obwohl keine extrakosten für Sprit oder extra Aufwände entstanden sind. Die anderen Gäste haben sich dann netterweise ebenfalls dafür stark gemacht, dass es nicht fair wäre, sodass wir nur noch 50euro zahlen mussten. Für das Zimmer wollte man erst 30 Euro nehmen und nach einer Nacht hieß es auf einmal, dass das Zimmer 35 Euro kostet.

Points positifs : le cadre est magnifique, l’emplacement est idéal et le spot de snorkeling au pied du homestay est incroyable.

À notre arrivée, nous avons malheureusement découvert que l’établissement était surbooké et que notre chambre avait été attribuée à un autre couple. La première solution proposée — dormir dans une pièce sans fenêtre dans la cuisine — était pour nous inacceptable. L’équipe a finalement trouvé une alternative dans un autre home stay à proximité. Bien que l’accueil ait été correct, le logement proposé ne correspondait pas au niveau de confort et de services que nous avions réservés initialement, notamment concernant la chambre et la nourriture.

The bungalows are built in traditional style and perfectly comfortable on the quiet side of the island with gorgeous views. Beds are comfy and all have mosquito netting. It was nice having a private bathroom. The staff are friendly and respond to requests immediately and politely. Just ask if you need a clean towel or extra food. The food is basic but tasty. The reef out the front is not as nice as by Yenbuba jetty or Soul Scuba jetty but it’s nice to swim towards the island on the right out front. There is a problem here as there is just about everywhere in Asia with plastic bottles. They clear them on their patch every day. The boats used for transfers and tours are dated and there is minimal or no safety equipment. Ask them not to smoke when they are driving the boat and they won’t. The good news is they are familiar with the sea and great drivers. They had a problem with loss of an essential English speaking member of staff and there were some overbookjngs as a result but hopefully they will rectify this problem soon. You can walk across the hill at the back to Soul Scuba which is the real deal for diving. We loved it at Gibran and would love to go back. Just relax and appreciate the fact it’s a very remote location and it’s pretty basic. Set your expectations and enjoy !

Die Lage in der Bucht direkt am Wasser ist sehr schön. Einen Viewpoint kann man dort gut zu Fuß erreichen. Das Essen war sehr lecker, hat auch in der Regel immer für die gesamten Gäste ausgereicht.

In dem Bungalow ist es nachts sehr warm, da es keinen Ventilator gibt und das Mückennetz so gut wie keine Luft durchlässt. Das Badezimmer, welches sich die Wasserbungalows teilen müssen, ist eher schlecht. Die Badezimmertür mit der europäischen Toilette ist nicht abzuschließen, der Raum ist relativ dunkel und schmutzig, durch die ständige Feuchtigkeit durch die Dusche & Toilette und den Regen. Ein Waschbecken gibt es nicht. Die Gastgeber leben eher zurückgezogen. Man wird kurz begrüßt und danach sieht man die Mitarbeiter ggfs nur, wenn sie das Essen hinstellen oder abräumen, was schade ist. Vielleicht ist das für viele kein negativer Aspekt, aber wir kamen von einer Unterkunft, wo sich die Mitarbeiter am Abend in den Essbereich gesellt haben und der nächste Tag besprochen wurde. Auf eigene Faust kann man nämlich nur am Riff der Bucht schnorcheln, wobei die rechte Seite des Riffs schöner war, als die linke und dennoch teilweise sehr kaputt.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful overwater bungalow, surrounded by nature. One of the highlights was seeing countless blacktip reef sharks swimming directly beneath our terrace and along the walkways — we stopped counting at some point. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a bamboo shark under the pier. The house reef is stunning, full of vibrant marine life, including turtles, many species of fish, and numerous blacktip reef sharks — we saw ten during a single snorkeling session. The bay itself is peaceful and idyllic, perfect for relaxing. The shower and toilet facilities were also clean and well-maintained.

The only downside was the food situation. While the quality and taste were good, the portions were often not enough for all guests. Meals typically included plain rice with some sort of cooked vegetables and either fish or chicken, which is standard in Raja Ampat, but unless you arrived very early or exactly on time, you risked getting a very small portion. If the food quantity had matched the quality, we would have rated our stay a 10. The staff was very kind, and the overall experience was great.
