EJA GUEST HOUSE

It was a lovely stay! We enjoyed a pancake and fresh local fruits bought only that morning at the markets for breakfast. Our host even gave us extra fruit to take with us when we were inquiring what they were. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, able to give us a few recommended places to visit. They were also flexible, offering breakfast at whatever time we returned from the Kelimutu lakes.

Although a Western luxury we can't expect everywhere, we would have enjoyed warm water, especially since it gets cold in Moni.

PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS: I wish the reviews would have warned us. This was horrible. Just check the pictures. It was disgusting and black mold everywhere. This deserves nothing more than an 1

Friendly staff. Big rooms. Nice decor with cute pillows. Big breakfast of fresh fruit and a pancake. In the room, it was nice to have a small table and chair and a drying rack.

The room had not been used in a while, so although it was cleaned after the last guest, there were dead bugs and a dead gecko around the bathroom and sink area.

Absolutely fantastic 3 day stay at this lovely guest house. Hosts Alex and Fin were so welcoming and knowledgeable, organising activities according to our particular interests. Trips to villages, walking down from Kelimutu through villages, large village market at Jopu, weaving tour, visits to viewpoints, party, delicious food, visit to a garden. The accommodation is well located in central Moni, clean and comfortable. Exceptional stay, highly recommended.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. They invited us to some local celebrations. Breakfast was nice and we also got some tea when we arrived. They helped us organizing transport to Maumere.

I didn't check as I assumed there was Wi-Fi but turned out there wasn't. Would be great if that could be changed in the future as for me it's a must criteria. Also charging 150,000 IDR to rent a scooter for half day is too expensive compared to other options (even if the scooter is from a friend), this made us feel disappointed.

The guesthouse is composed of 2 bedrooms on the main street at the start of Moni. Alex and his wife are super friendly and accommodating. We rented scooters from their neighbors to go to the volcano. The homemade breakfast was delicious and complete. There is even a daily market in front of the guesthouse everyday but Sundays.
