Ida Guest House & JUNGLE TREKKING

The staff are so friendly, I stayed here for multiple weekends. Location is ideal for bukit lawang, and the Ida restaurant does amazing food. Beds are very comfy

Sometimes the shower didn’t work, and was sometimes noisy

Tenía un buen precio. El personal era muy amable. El restaurante tenía de todo y era variado. Ofrecian trekking y transfer al aeropuerto

Había algunas hormigas en la habitación. Pero lo principal es que la habitación standard en la descripción pone que tiene ducha; pero NO ESPECIFICA NO TIENE AGUA CALIENTE.

La habitación limpia y nos dieron la mejor habitación por las vistas a la selva. Amplia y cómoda. El trekking que contratamos por 2 días estuvo bien, el guía oficial muy simpático y Yuda que le acompañaba muy atento y amable. Comida rica. La comida del restaurante está muy bien y a buen precio.

El aire acondicionado de la habitación es ineficiente, aunque nos trajeron un ventilador cuando lo pedimos, pagamos el doble por una habitación con AC y al final duermes con el ventilador. Se generó una situación desagradable con el gerente Mudhi, el cual nos intentó meter la actividad del rafting por 30 euros añadido a los 100 euros que ya estábamos pagando por el tour de 2 dias. Dijimos el primer día que no nos interesaba, que volveríamos caminando de la selva, pero al final del segundo día de trekking llegamos a la zona donde se toman los botes de rafting a pesar de que le dijimos que no queríamos claramente y varias veces. En esa situación nos vimos obligados a volver en rafting porque ya era muy tarde y no daba tiempo a volver caminando. Al día siguiente nos dijo que teníamos que pagarle los 30 euros del rafting, a lo cual cordialmente nos negamos porque no nos pareció oportuno. No nos gustó esa actitud de intentar cobrar como fuera una actividad que no habíamos solicitado y a la cual nos habíamos negado en varias ocasiones. Además previamente le había preguntado por la funcionalidad del AC y me dijo que todo funcionaba bien. Por el precio de la habitación Deluxe habría ido a otro lugar de haber sabido que no funcionaba bien el AC.

Host Muhdi, not sure of the spelling. Was extremely helpful in booking things like the trekking and organising transfers etc. restaurant served great food also. After the trekking was dropped back to the hotel via the tubing experience. Would stay again.

Die Fahrer (Transport von Medan nach Bukit Lawang und von Bukit Lawang nach Berastagi) sind sehr vorsichtig gefahren. Muhdi, der Besitzer, spricht Englisch. Es hat alles wie vereinbart geklappt (Transporte, Dschungeltour).

Die WC-Brille war abgebrochen. Sehr hartes Bett (Rückenweh) Mudhi war zwar nett, aber man fühlte sich nicht wirklich willkommen. Wir hatten den Eindruck, dass es Muhdi nur ums Geld geht. Als wir ankamen, bestellten wir etwas zu essen. Als das Essen kam, konnten wir aber nicht essen, weil wir zuerst bezahlen mussten (inkl Dschungeltour, Transporte). Nur das Zimmer konnte ich auf mein ausdrückliches Verlangen erst am Schluss bezahlen. Überall sonst zahlt man am Schluss oder lässt die Gäste nach der langen Fahrt zumindest zuerst essen. Von verschiedener Seite hörten wir, dass es sein kann, dass man aus dem Ida Guesthouse trotz Reservation rausgeworfen wird, wenn man keine Dschungeltour bucht, obwohl auf booking.com nirgends ein entsprechender Hinweis steht. Wir hatten eine Tour gebucht, daher war das bei uns kein Problem. Vgl dazu die Rezensionen auf Google Maps. Auf der Tour haben wir Orang Uthans gesehen, was toll war. Leider sprach unser Guide nicht so gut Englisch und er hat auch praktisch nichts erklärt.

Het totale pakket van Ida Guest House beviel ons erg goed. De communicatie met Muhdi, het transport van de luchthaven naar het dorp. Maar ook de gidsen tijdens de 2-daagse jungle trekking waren toppers.

We liked the jungle trekking, 4 of us and 2 guides, we did see 4 orangutans including a large male. Couple of leaf monkeys too. We liked the location of the accommodation near a few restaurants and the river. It was basic but good for a few nights. The owner was very communative when we advised of our flight changes and pick-up from the airport.

Once we were in the jungle it was very busy with other groups, meeting up with them at most sitings. On our arrival at Bukit Lawang it wasn't the welcome we were expecting with no introduction at all, this was apparently the owner of the business, Room was very basic with very low water pressure especially to the shower. We were aware of this due to Bukit Lawang's location and was happy to put up with it for the few nights.
